>Looks at Woody sadly

>It's like in the great stories Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end it's only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines it'll shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something even if you were too small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo, I do understand, I know now folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding on to something.

>What are we holding onto, Sam?

>That there's some good in the world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for.

Thats a crock of shit. I'm from SC, the armpit of the south, and my girl burned like a furnace at night but it was so worth it to feel that weight of her head on my chest and waking up to her tangled up with me. Literally nothing I've ever experienced was as happy as seeing her sleepy face in the morning.

The final scene of Excision was pretty sad.

I think the last thing I saw that got me was The Conversation, specifically his dream in which he sees the woman and tries to relate her but doesn't know how. He can't say anything about himself as a person so he just keeps reeling off physical incidents which have occurred during his life.

It's the resignation to their fate and desire to go down in unity that gets me. It shows the devotion the toys have to each other, that they'd choose to die together hand-in-hand rather than struggle in futility as they die. It appeals to me as someone who has lost most of his friends because they simple didn't give a fuck about me.

I know it's meme answer but it always tears me up. Rutger Hauer improvised and when he says"tears in rain" you can hear his voice shake just a little bit and he smiles a little too. I always imagine that it isn't Batty saying that to Deckard but actually Hauer saying it to Ford. It just blurs the line between acting and real life.

He had a friends who died in field and out of field hence beginning of movie when he visits Delmore's family to check up on him since he was one of the few guys who was with him that survived through nam.

Rambo was talking about a friend that would talk about home constantly and what he would do when he got back but was cut short by a kid with a bomb in a shoebox asking his friend if he wanted a shine.

He also talked about hippies spitting on him calling him a babykiller and shit when he got off the plane.

Rewatch the movie anon Rambo wasn't just a soldier he was a man who was driven to a point where he couldn't take it anymore.

The alternate/actual ending actually has Trautman kill him by accident/suicide like in the book.
>>
>>70305798
I didn't say I disliked the movie; I liked it quite a lot, especially the beginning scenes wen he finds out hes the last one to survive.
I guess I have to watch the movie again with subtitles, because I genuinely don't understand him.
I'm a bit sad that they turned it from the social critical and realistic soldier tries to integrate into ungrateful society to just him killing russians and vietnamese.

I like Rambo 2 and 4 myself but I can understand your view on it.

The search for pows in 2 is what I focus on mostly, I imagine he isn't saving nameless guys but himself little by little and kobow(vietnamese contact) is a qt.

4 has Rambo has him say fuck the world until he has to save people and then ending to 4 is him finally coming home where he was headed in the first place.
