I watched Gomorra 3 weeks ago and I can barely tell you what happened in it. It's easily the most boring (non-Antonioni) "acclaimed" Italian films I've ever seen.

Honestly if anything Gomorra tones down how shitty most of Naples really is, it's like 50% Former Soviet Union commieblock and 50% Brazilian Favela shantytown, I felt safer in Kabul, Afghanistan

Gomorra is shit and it was only praised for "showing the true side of italy" when it conveniently left out all the actual relevant parts from the novel and focused on the obvious shit everybody knew.
On top of that it was just a shit movie with shit pacing and direction. It was the lowest kind of oscar bait, banking on real problems to secure awards.
