So why was this show cancelled anyways? I rewatched a few episodes a couple of days ago, and it still holds up pretty well. It also seemed pretty popular during to the time.

The ratings started to drop after however many seasons they had of the same shit every episode.

I loved it too, it has such a unique atmosphere i cant quite put my finger on what it is. Also the only sitcom where i didn't see the punchline coming a mile away.
The prison season was terrible though i don't know why they felt like the format was getting stale.
Might watch some of it on netflix now.

As soon as the ratings dipped slightly in the forth season he pulled the trigger on it. It was just an excuse.
It fell apart in the third season when they had him go to prison and moved away from the episodic nature of the show.
