There's more of them. All they need to do is invest in better armor. Obsidian isn't that hard, it won't penetrate most armor. They just need to keep it away from their skin. Valyrian steel is a bitch, but there aren't enough of those blades to seriously threaten them. Especially not when they're behind hordes of zombies. Really, the only way they can lose is by having the dragons show up.
