The movie is about four different strangers who go about their day in utter silence with barely any contact with the outside world. every shot is them attempting to block out what is going on in reality (hoody up, headphones in, curtains closed, closing bedroom doors) silence...
But then, they all meet, and there is an awakening in each of them, and through this ugly, un aesthetic anime board, the speak the first words in text that are the first signs of their personalities. Soon, a thread appears. We learn more from this virtual exchange than from any "acting" that the person does in the flesh, they are all mainly emotionless on the surface, but obviously emotional underneath.
