I don't understand, would a filmmaker have some sort of incentive to inexplicably place the final act of a film in Beijing starring all Chinese actors and including Chinese product placement and showing the Chinese government to be capable and heroic while the American government is incompetent and corrupt?
maybe the incentive is something as simple as wanting to make money
The Chinese are currently experiencing their 1980's: a glut of consumerism, natuonalism, and unwarranted self value. When their economy collapses in a decade or so hack directors will start trying to appeal to the next big consumer powerhouse,India.
Same thing happened with Japan 25 years ago, but you faggots are too young to know about that.

Everything you said is true but a country of 1.3 billion entertainment hungry consumers has the potential to rival the US market collapsed economy or not.
I wanted more dinosaurs and less Marky Mark

There are "only" 200 millions Chinese capable of living like Americans, the rest are basically slaves.
Those 200 million are pretty good at being consumers though.

Because Hong Kong had to know that the mainland wouldn't abandon her. Or whatever those hilarious additional Chinese Government officials reacting to Lockdown's ship arriving in Hong Kong.
>> we're sending Fighter Jets
And they just fly around doing jack shit.
Remember how blindly pro-America the first TF was? Half the movie was military porn shots and all of the US soldiers were flawless wise cracking good ole boys. Then the first chance he got to exploit a new market Bay jumped ship to China and made the American governent the corrupt backstabbing villains responsible for all of the problems of the movie.
kek this nigga would have sold shells to the Nazis

People who know what's up have started pandering to the Chinese market because of dat sweet yellow money.
Just look at Person of Interest.
>>70124868
Because china has more money than usa now. thus all the pandering to the foreign market.
There are tons of articles about how the Chinese censors essentially act as a world film police on how China is depicted in Hollywood films but it's really tough to find general rules rather than specific moments of censorship (which there are TONS of).
I wish there was like a list or guidebook or something. I'm sure there is an unofficial one at the Hollywood studios but a leak would be amazing.

The book itself has China helping America to save him on Mars. The director didn't change how the book portrays China.

Just wait until islam really takes a hold there and you won't have to worry about western films being shown there. They'll have their own burgeoning film industry of exporting boulder head crushing videos to the west.

You're a fucking idiot

Pakistan exists for a reason. India as a country and as people are strongly opposed to Islam, nomatter what Saudia Arabia has to say about it.

Of course they'll still be rabid consumers, but nowhere near the level they are now and what they'll be at in a few years. It's not worth appealing to that market in the way Transformers did when it alienates you elsewhere at that point and makes profits take a hit.

Le mêmes.

You are a cynic, but that doesn't mean your interpretation of Transformers 4 as PRC propaganda is correct.

the us army will give you free military equipment for movies if the movie shows the gov/military in a positive light
didn't chinese ironman 3 have extra scenes showing he needed their superior doctors to remove the shrapnel in his chest?
