The way I see it, Quicksilver bends time around himself: the end result is that he "moves fast" but it also means there's not an effective upper limit: the writers should feel free to make him exactly as fast as the plot requires him to be. This time-bending ability would make him more like his father and sister both thematically and in terms of power-level.

The problem is, X-men made me realise how bland MCU movies actually are. In civil war, it is just a bunch of guys punching each other, with very few actual super powers (beyond being faster and stronger). X-men had real superpowers with telekinesis, teleportation, lazer eyes, god-like levels of speed. Earth shattering stuff. The only people with interesting powers are Scarlet Witch and Antman.

Yes I understand what you are saying.
Civil War was a good movie but at the end of the day the airport scene were 10 ninjas with different gimmicks fighting and a few characters with actual superpowers. Their powers overlap too much. Bucky, Widow, Cap, Black Panther, Hawk are practically the same character fighting wise.
Meanwhile the current line up of x-men have: optic blast, super strenght, super speed, TK and teleports. Each character has a very distinctive power and role in the fights.
