2001. Even though it is uneven at times it is simply breath taking. For story though it is hard to beat Barry Lyndon
barry lyndon because its the best blending of his autism with real humanistic themes. its also one of the most impressively shot movies of all time and a rare 2 act masterpiece

i have yet to watch it i've been really meaning to i've just been afraid to invest my time in it because i hear alot of people panning it for being boring but i'm genuinley intriuged i'll have to look up the synopisis
Fear and Desire because I'm the only patrician here.
>>70107570 it seriously is, as cliche as it sounds getting stoned out of your gourd and getting in a dark room void of distractions and just taking it all is truly an experience expecially factoring in that it came out in 68' it never really dawned on me how much of a feat this movie is untill i looked at one of the display panels and noticed they were still using nixie tube displays pic related

am i the only one who thought the room 237 documentery was fucking joke
>>70108172
dude nothing kubrick did was a coincidence lmao
>>70108228
of course, he was a meticulous man but some of those nutjobs are fucked the one broad talking about minotaurs and the dude talking about stuart ullman popping a boner in his office and shit, i do however find the supposed themes of the holocaust and native american genocide really beleivable and super interesting
a clockwork orange due to the visuals, kubricks implementation of classical music never ceases to amaze me

the cinematography felt.... not natural in that movie. Forced in a way. I think it's one of his worst movies; it's so didactic but it doesn't seem well thought out and all the conveniences at the end piss me off.
That scene where he's playing with the dick statue and the shot's framed to make it look like it's going to her crotch is great. The waterside one is too.

i can see where you are coming from i just really enjoy the style of it it is one of those films that does drag on i find though
Dr. StrangeLove
I love dark humor because i'm nihilistic and have a wicked sense of humor Xd

Not even a particularly good performance from him desu. Magnolia is much better.

Are you talking about 2001 or BL? Either way, watch them anon, they're both great.
>>70109264
barry lyndon, i've probably seen 2001 8 times
>>70107735
>yet to watch 2001
its the litmus test for plebs
>>70109389
It is not boring though it can not be described as exciting. It is the closest you will get to watching a book in film format though if that makes sense.
>>70109773
I found BL very engaging and entertaining
Barry Lyndon is my favorite. it was the inspiration for my first tattoo
