If you listen to the interviews he gave about the character, he talks about how he didn't consider Kilgrave evil and the effects of growing up in a world where everyone does what you say. I would have enjoyed a series that revolved around him and included that part of the backstory. Instead we got another feminist film whose only redeemable quality was the male actor.

Pretty great show. Best of Marvel netflix thus far.
A really solid show if you're a grown up that can handle the overall concepts without being triggered.
The main issue was there really wasn't enough plot to carry the whole show hence the stalling and the frustrating as fuck I NEED HIM ALIVE SO HE CAN ESCAPE AGAIN plot device. A smart move would have been to break up the overarching plot with a handful of unrelated standalone cases where Jones has little hour long film noir adventures that maybe tie thematically into the plot. I think they did it once with the people that set her up because they hate superheroes but there should have been three or four episodes like that. Good performance, good characters, good writing all around just a bit clunky and plotty in the execution at times.
The dialogue was MUCH better than Daredevil and it never felt cheap the way DD does at times but I would put DD season 1 just above Jessica Jones and Daredevil season 2 FAR BELOW both of them

Daredevil is better at the Black-Widow-style agile, acrobatic fighting, and has the added bonus of forms of perception others on the team don't have, but I suppose Jones has some of the more deceptive information gathering skills Widow has, if you look at any scene where she's on the phone. She just sucks in a fight so much though.
The actress is an ugly rat faced kike and the show is boring as sin. Worse than CW production values, fight scenes that belong in Buffy circa 97, Jessica is an unlikeable bitch who is portrayed as "a rebel with alcohol issues". I could forgive that if they people around her were interesting or were at least decent actors but apart from Tenant they all suck.

Leaving aside the fact that "Morally upright" depends on your point of view, there's the junkie guy who's a slave for 75% of the show and that's about it. Luke Cage is prone to going apeshit and trying to beat people to death with his bare hands because he has a hunch they killed his wife and Simmons wants to kill Kilgrave, consequences be damned, and shoot anyone who gets in his way, even Jessica when he gets hopped up on pills.
Meanwhile, Jessica and Trish actually are sympathetic apart from their dumb writing and stupid character defects. Hope is a faultless angelic victim who does nothing even conceivably wrong apart from aborting Kilgrave's rape baby.
