Well video games are a different format, the way they tell what barebones stories that they have is typically through gameplay when they're done right. And conveying story through gameplay is a completely different feeling than conveying story through film. Something like Uncharted or TLoU might be easy to adapt because they're 40% cutscene, but other games it would tough.

Draenor has the best questing yet, the dungeons are good but there's little variety, raiding is good, and it has loads of daily content which you'd either love or hate. Garrisons are fun. My biggest issue is that the stats go off the rails, you'll hit level 100 doing like 6k dps meanwhile in heroics I see geared people topple 1 million dps. Seeing such a huge difference means there's a massive gear grind, and the community has become snooty about it. If you're a "fresh 100" you may get kicked from groups which makes it even more difficult to grind.
Ultimately Wow fails because they don't know how to innovate. They just keep releasing expansions to drain this cow dry, and each expansion has less content and more filler than the last. Besides if stats go the way theyr going we'll probably see a range of 1 million to 50 gorillian dps at level 120. Until they revert it the games stats will just get more and more out of whack.
Wow will never be as good as vanilla/bc/wotlk. Cataclysm and pandaria was just fucking awful and i refuse to start another character, getting from 80-90 is work. Not fun.
Nevermind that when you have 120 levels in your game, the decades of enjoyable content suddenly becomes worthless as everyone powerlevels from 1-120, which is sad when you realize you can spend an hour to dungeon run to level 30, or spend weeks doing questing and achievements.

I saw it and it's not as shitty as I feared but it's not good either. The acting performance of humans was really bad. Lot of cringe moments here. The orcs were better. Action scenes were ok and some of the special effects stunning, especially the magic. The story was bland and not very interesting with big problems of rhythm and too much stuff being crammed in, especially the second half.

Games are about gameplay, 90% of the time the plots are just shit. There's only a handful of good vidya stories out there (Planescape Torment and the Legacy of Kain series for example) but they always adapt games that have shitty ones (Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, Warcraft etc).

Saw it. I think the pacing was too fast (he had to pack so much information into it) - at one point you see a WoW creature just so you can't say you didn't see it, basically. But he still tried and in my opinion succeeded to bring out those unique Warcraft things (even a seargant on the battlefield sounded like a seargant from the games)
Besides that there is the simplistic writing (but I think that it would be slightly unfair to attack him for this considering it is a matter of staying true to the lore books and the games).
I think the acting was astonishing desu, very good. The CGI was evidently beautiful (Blizzard we love you).
With that said I think Duncan has grown more experienced now and the film has lead the way for an even better sequel lore-wise.
I am a fan of the universe though. Also going into the film from blackness, the Horde drums sounding and people in the cinema going "for the Horde - makes you realize how much a place this universe has in the hearts of people.
I give this a 7/10 because the pacing suffered. We didn't get enough time to grow with the characters as much as I would like at all. I am hopeful of the sequels and they could very well score a point higher if everything sits.

It looks special in a good way. The only character who I think could be somewhat better is Garona. She seems a little plastic. Human armor looks clunky but come on have you seen the Stormwind guards (in the game) - armor is goofy in any case.
It doesn't look "fake" at all. It's a unique universe and that's what it looks like.
The 3D is also some of the best I've seen, if not the best.
I'm glad they used real people. People are more apt at showing emotion than whatever you could do through a computer. Not everybody likes anime.
