So was there an actual babby in space at the end?
>>70076036
it's a metaphor
It's an allegory
It's a simile.
What's the movie?
It's a boy.
It's got zika
>>70076191
Collect call from Bob Weeadababyeetsaboi
it godzilla
2001 literally explains how babby was formed.
>>70076036
That's Dave after he transcended into a new state of being.
>>70076036
It's symbolic.
baby is the next stage in evolution
dionysis the drunk and apollo the nerd sucked each others' dicks or something and now we're all smart fedora wearing intellectuals because of this
>>70076861
>>70076861
Note how the baby was white.
>>70076066
Does the baby represent Kubrick's complete lack of film making skills
It actually a monkey but whatever
Its a Kupka
it's a metaphor for hitler
>>70076036
I have come to the conclusion that only retarded autists need to ask what a movie was about. It's like walking into an art museum, looking at a Pollock, then turning around and saying, "Hey, guise ... what does it mean?".
>>70076036
Even Kubrick didn't know what the ending of 2001 meant. It was meant to be abstract even to him. For example, Phil Collins was going through a divorce but "In the Air Tonight" wasn't about the divorce like some people think. Phil even said that he doesn't know where the lyrics came from but they just felt right. Same thing with Kubrick. He just storyboarded some shit together, didn't know why, didn't think too much about it, all he knew was that it felt right then shot it. Done.
The monolith advanced Bowman to the next stage of evolution, like it did to the monkeys in the beginning. It's not difficult.
>>70078915
>Kubrick didn't know what the ending of 2001 meant
Why make up something so fucking stupid? Everyone (except the retards on /tv/) knows exactly what the end of 2001 means.
It's not even abstract. You clearly see Dave enter the monolith, travel to a fantastic, alien place, get old, die, transform into the next step in evolution, and then return to Earth.
And if you're too fucking dim to understand pictures placed right in front of your face, go and read the book, which spells out exactly the same story, but in words.
You're a fucking abortion and I hope you die from AIDS.
I need a citations but...
>Kubrick ran out of budget after the Hyperspace scene. The bit in the weird hotel with Frank getting old was him improvising. The baby is essentially the same, stick a bunch of weird shit in, let the audience put it together.
I think it works though
>people not getting the ending
>people not seing the aliens
>>70079038
pretty much this, i don't understand why people get so butthurt when discussing 2001, sure it may be overrated, but if you don't understand it then you're a fucking retard.
>>70076932
pretty racist tbqh
>>70076036
2001 is one of the most metaphorically straightforward films ever made and people STILL fail to get it.
>>70076036
>monkey civilization finds monolith
>alarm goes off signalling the next step in our evolution o the aliens that planted it there
>humans land on a planet for the first time and find a monolith
>alarm goes off
>Humans head to jupiter in the midst of their AI conflict
>finds a monolith
>alarm goes off and the fitted human is taken in by the aliens
>transformation starts
>born again as a child of light
and so on an so forth
>>70076036
Ah yes is it was.
>>70076932
No, the baby (starchild) was blue.
>>70076191
It took 12 years to film
>>70079992
No, only 4 years.
Also baby star.
>>70076036
Why do people pretend to like this movie?
The ending of 2001 just looks like the dude crossed into the 5th dimension. He traversed the variables of length, width, height and time and now he's tripping harder than any of us could even possibly imagine.
>>70076861
>baby is the next stage in evolution
Fuck, it's Wesley Crusher
>>70079624
what is that?
>>70080253
First ideas for the big monolith aliums.
In the end they were blue meth and people didnt get it
>>70078669
>pollock
yeah, its obvious it means nothing and is just used for money laundering
>>70079971
That's just the lighting, bro. The whole point of the movie is to show the stark contrast between the niggers (monkeys in the opening) and the masterrace. The star child is literally a proclamation of white power.
>>70080319
>and people didnt get it
But I did
>>70080659
Congrats, you are a clever guy
I literally saw this baby in my first ever k-hole. I wonder what it means
>>70079038
lol what an idiot
Are you implying that Kubrick didn't use his own creative license and carbon copied his artistic message from the book?
PHAAHAHAHAAHAAHAHA
>>70076036
You have to be Illuminati to get this movie.
>>70078915
the monolith was the babby's toy.
>>70076036
adoy!
>>70080659
Me too,
>>70076036
Ubermensch is born
>>70078915
Don't know if that's true for 2001, but Tarkovsky definitely had like moments
>>70076378
Wow anon. I thought i wad the only person who remembered that commercial.
