i care for story in films that are primarily focused on telling a story (like A BRIGHTER SUMMER DAY), i care for characters in films that are primarily focused on complex characters (like THE MASTER), but there's no precise composition of elements that crafts a "perfect" film.
PACIFIC RIM succeeds so perfectly at everything it attempts that it'd be ridiculous to dislike it.
