Whoever designed this movie poster did a shit job.
Look at the bottom, where the actors' pictures and their names are:
"Jennifer Jason Leigh" covers one and a half pictures, making the whole row of names completely off and unappealing to the eye.

I would fire the person who designed that.
>>
>>70063508
Nah, you're autistic.

Though it is nice they didn't middle-out the headshots according to billing.

It's shit and tarantino hasnt made a good movie since pulp fiction
>>
It is pretty good. I love both halfs. I honestly love everything about it except for the blowjob scene. It was just too much for me.
>>
>>70063356

>that part where Tim Roth gets shot in the belly and is laying on the ground screaming

I knew such a scene was coming the whole time and I loved that little throw back.
>>
>>70063356
When someone asks "what's a good example of a movie where the director lets his ego expand as far as the studio will ignore it," H8FL8 is that example.

I even like QT and I would agree with OP statement.
>>
>>70063356
As a fan of Tarantino I was kinda annoyed by the last half. Like there was so much build up and drama then welp... Blood! I mean it seemed fitting for Django Unchained but here it just felt kinda "been there done that." Still 8/10 good.
>>
>>70065692
I would review it the exact same way, but give the finished product a 5/10. Would not watch again.
>>
>>70065692
The ending should have been obvious to anyone who's ever seen one of his movies. It had no chance of ending in any other way than a blood bath. How the violence was going to kick off and play out was what had me interested.
>>
>>70065574
holy shit, I've watched the film 3 times and never noticed that, that's actually amazing hahaha
>>
>>70065845
Good point, but the violence in Basterds, Reservoir Dogs and Django felt more "fitting" and "controlled." This was like a kid playing with a blood sprinkler on a hot summer day. I wasn't expecting the Kill Bill style of violence by the end. Just felt unfitting to the story and tone.
>>
>>70063356
shit movie
tarantino's second worst feature, death proof being the worst one
>>
>>70066074

Outside of the bloody poisonous death, the violence wasn't anything other than shooting and someone being hung. I don't recall anything like in Kill Bill.
>>
>>70066130

While Death Proof is surely the worst, I like this over the Kill Bill, Django and maybe Inglorious Bastards. I like all his movies, though, so it's not really an insult to any of them. Except Death proof, I genuinely didn't care for it.
>>
I find Tarantino's black/ cuckold/ forced feminization fetish really detracts from his more recent works.

the biggest thing that bummed me out was the having the dad suck the black dudes dick. waaaaay out of place, and too much. if he even just described it, showing no visuals of the bj, i would have been fine. but showing a clip of it all ruined it for me.
>>
>>70066553

It really does.

Really since the vengeful Jew movie he has incorporated some form of oppressed people killing white people.
>>
>>70066673
I really hope his next movie isn't another racial revenge fantasy. It's really starting to get weird. I loved Basterds and Django when they came out but that moment, that "Big Black Dangus" scene completely took me out of the movie and kinda retroactively ruined those other movies for me. The whole thing just feels weird now. I wanna see another movie like kill bill where we all have fun without blaming whitey for all evil in the world.
>>
>>70066673

I agree. If he would have just said he did it it would have been more tolerable. Actually showing it was just terribly off putting.
>>
>>70066968
>where we all have fun without blaming whitey for all evil in the world.
I didn't get that vibe from the movie. At least, not without the simultaneous vibe of "this nigger lying about having a Lincoln Letter just to kill white people".

In general the film overall conveys the message of "blame people for all evil in the world"

Of course, most SJWs and /pol/tards only notice one side being demonized/blamed even when it's happening to both sides
>>
>>70063356
I hate this movie because it empowers niggers.
>>
>>70067112
why is empowering niggers bad?
>>
I still have not watched this yet due to the fact its almost 3 hours. wtf?
>>
>>70067148
Because they will cuck me
>>
>>70067203
what makes you think they'll do that?
>>
>>70067110
>I didn't get that vibe from the movie.

Ya know I might not have either if it wasn't his 3rd movie in a row about it.
>>
> Be all anal about using 70mm camera.
> Whole fucking film takes place in that wood cabin.
>>
>>70067265
again, though, it goes both ways. Revenge is barbaric and needless, other than satisfying urges.

White people did some bad shit, but sadistic revenge against them is bad too. All three movies feature this. Revenge is cyclical, and people have been doing shit to get back at one another for thousands of years. Continuing the cycle is as bad in many important respects as starting it.

what are some good movies like the first half? was comfy af
>>
>>70068108
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Haven't even seen Hateful Eight.
>>
>>70068108
Not a western but Barry Lyndon is pretty comfy.
>>
>>70066074
The film had been building up tension for 90 minutes, it had to reach a climax at some point

that being said I think the climax was a bit weak, all of the gang died too easily
>>
>>70068108
Honestly, if Hateful Eight had been done properly there would be nothing that compared
The premise, aesthetic and score were all amazing, but let down by bad actors, bad writing and bad directing.
What makes me so angry about this movie is the waste of potential
>>
>>70065817
This. Loved everything Quenchin Fartatino pressed out up to Jackie Brown and still enjoyed Kill Bill 1+2, but everything after that is just trash.
Then again my shit friends hate everything by old Tarantino and love Neo-Tarantino and LOOOL CHRISTOPH WALTZ PLAYS CHRISTOPH WALTZ SO FAHNY XDDD!

It's also the heads exploding like it was Brutal Doom
>>
>>70063356

watched it since its essential Russell-core. expected nothing more nothing less
>>
>>70068364
Sam Jackson and Kurt Russel are not good actors. They have no range and when a role has to written around an actor's personality it's going to come wrong
Many of the actors who for whatever reason decide to latch on to the sinking ship that is tarantino, ie Tim Roth, are fantastic, but there are always a few that can't hold up
>>
>>70068143
>>70068108
for a few dollars more is better and more appropriate for someone who is uninitiated because its about an hour shorter in length
>>
>>70068476
someone hasn't seen tombstone

although val kilmer was the best actor in that film

That's more about if you can watch long films or not. Barry Lyndon is fairly long too, but I'd say it's equally as comfy as that other anon pointed out.

The worst part for me was when Tarantino himself started narrating.

Completely unnecessary and took me right out of the movie... otherwise it was good.

You can really tell that no one tells him hey Quentin that sucks, that's a bad idea, etc.
>>
>>70067110

I do like how the Confederate sheriff gets his moment of glory at the end and even Samuel Ls character was diggin all was saying about leading an army of 400 men. Every scene with him and any post war tension I just loved.

Dude, Kurt Russel was so fucking amazing. So was that chick. Everyone was fucking great.

>tfw that camera was designed to pick up natural light and that's why it creates such beautiful shots but no one uses those cameras
>>
>>70068476

>Kurt Russels face when reading the Lincoln letter

Those fucking eyes man. Only a genius could convey such a thing.
>>
>>70068271
But it would have been nice if any of the 90 minute build off had been referenced in the climax. Not a single clue or motivation comes into play in the third act.
I liked the concept a whole lot. The classic set-up where a bunch of strangers come together but one of them is secretly the bad guy. It's more interesting here because how can you tell which one is the bad guy when everyone is a horrible cunt. But the 3rd act is just like 'lol there was nothing to figure out".
>>
>>70068980

Holy fuck that dude went full on assault on that hoe.
>>
>>70063356
My buddy said he turned it off a little bit after they reached the cabin because he was bored and "nothing was happening, but people talking". I'd stop talking to him completely if he wasn't also my dealer
>>
>>70067326
Why do you think the opening scene of the snowy mountain range and the Jesus carving was ten minutes long?
>>

Lord Bullingdon is the worst
but to be fair literally everyone in Barry Lyndon sucks
