Superhero films (Yes, DC too) are all fun action flicks with a bit of heart thrown in there too. If you're looking for that, you'll have a great time, if you're looking for anything more than that, of course you're gonna be disappointed.
The whole "no guns" thing really does get silly after a point. As far as action sequences go, that's pretty well shot. The camera is fairly steady. They also manage to keep action/reaction in the same frame, rather than cutting away for the reaction.
