So where were all the monkeys, cows, birds, reptiles, small cats and fish?

And what did everyone eat besides produce and popsicles?

More importantly, what did the carnivores eat?
>>
It's a children movie, faggot.

There aren't any domesticated animal species because it's a world where humans never existed to domesticate them.
They eat protein stuff made from bugs and such.

Having a sequel with them being a couple wouldn't be too far of a stretch, seeing how they've already dealt with the whole racism/acceptance thing.
Interspecies relationship problems/issues would be the next natural step.
>Judy taking Nick home to her redneck fox-racist parents
>YOU CAN'T MARRY HIM, HE'S A FOX

That shit writes itself.
>>
>>70041008
they've already overcome their prejudice and became partners with that redneck fox.
>>
>>70040844

I guess for an IRL performance they have to get the lines, delivery, and body language right all the time to sell it.

For a CG movie they just need to get the voices right and if the animation team is good at their job they can do the rest.
>>
>>70039798
Birds and reptiles are not sentient in Zootopia. Only mammals. It can be assumed the carnivores eat them, as well as bugs.
>>
>>70041093
Well I mean my parents accept black people but they wouldn't want me marrying a black woman. There's a difference between tolerance and embracing.
>>
>>70039798
>So where were all the monkeys
Valid question

>cows... small cats
Creatures created by domestication, like modern cattle, cats and dogs wouldn't be present in a world where humans never existed. We see wild-type bovines and felids.

>birds, reptiles... and fish?
Only mammals are sapient.

>More importantly, what did the carnivores eat?
Fish was certainly available. It's reasonable to assume that other forms on non-mammal meat was also present.

Asked a girl to see this movie today guys, and she fucking rejected me.
It was painful as fuck for me. I had the entire date planned pretty much to perfection.
I was going to jokingly wear a pair of novelty fox ears as we entered the theater. I know this might have weirded her out but that was the point. Then during the movie I was going to sneakily place a pair of rabbit ears onto her head. She wouldn't notice because of how good the movie was. During the movie I also wanted to make disparaging jokes about her like Nick does to Judy (she is an english major despite being mexican so I was going to make jokes about it like jokes about Judy cant be a police officer as a rabbit)

then when we came out of the screen she would notice the rabbit ears on her head and realise that the jokes were suggesting I want to be nick to her judy. it would have been romantic man. fuck. she didn't give me a chance.

>So where were all the monkeys, cows, birds, reptiles, small cats and fish?

Excluded for logistical and setting-related issues. The premise is that only mammals evolved to become sapient and civilized. Reptiles and avians are simply not mentioned, though the creators have refrained from explicitly stating whether they are also sapient, unevolved, or simply don't exist; They were stated to be excluded mainly because their presence would've overly complicated the message about tensions between different groups in society; Having a mammals-only society with inner tensions was a simpler and cleaner approach. Logistically, it was also the smarter move. 74 particular species were created and animated for Zootopia, leading to a total of 300 unique characters milling about in the foreground and background; Adding in reptiles and avians would've required creating even more, or cutting down on diversity.

Primates are also excluded, though for a separate reason. Earlier drafts and test screenings included primate characters, and in focus groups, they were always perceived to be the most intelligent characters in their scenes, regardless of context or writing. Presumably because they were too human-like in appearance. It didn't fit with the premise, since the creators wanted a world where the difference between all it's mammal inhabitants were based on their physical qualities, with no implications as to whether one group was markedly more intelligent or civilized than another.

Cats and dogs are also missing, as they're a domesticated species that came into existence through human intervention. Humans don't exist in this setting, ergo, no domesticated species either. There are however, some domesticated versions of pigs and sheep present, presumably for the audience's viewing convenience.

>And what did everyone eat besides produce and popsicles?
>More importantly, what did the carnivores eat?

Prey species consume all sorts of plant matter naturally. For the predators who need meat in their diet, the in-setting solution comes in the form of food made from insect protein (Bug-a-Burger is one such in-universe brand you can spot in the background). Earlier drafts of Zootopia also mentioned fish as a source of food, though it's not explicitly mentioned in film.

>>70039798
Only mammals evolved.
Birds are birds, you see them all the time in the movie.
Fish are probably still in the water.
Cows are most likely on farm like the Rabbits and other farm animals.
Carnivores probably ate chicken and fish.

Admittedly i've fapped far more to Lola, seeing how they purposefully drew her to look like an airheaded slut
However, Judy is pure and innocent, and would make far better wife material.

The power of (forced) imagination.

And it worked, but I did wonder if the scene would have been better if they just employed convenient scenery censorship (ala Austin Powers) instead. Presumably that might have felt even more suggestive though.
