Honestly a lot of the movie's problems would be the same if it were all white men, it just looks like a shitty cash grab, the effects are awful, and the trailer seems to indicate the writing will be shit too. The really sad thing is if the 21 Jump Street writer/director duo stayed on for that crossover it might have actually been good.
I mean Phil Lord and Chris Miller managed to turn a lego advert into a serviceable kids films so I think they could have nailed this.

You can't do that, they're both part of the same company, Sony. Without the head company the gaming division would have died back in the PS3 era when each financial year they reported losses, sometimes up to 6 billion USD. Any profit they had made off the ps2 was lost in a single year.
