I recently watched 'Killing of a Chinese bookie', but stopped midway because I was too bored. Is yours any better? I would give him another shot

Opening Night used to be. Maybe that was just UK Netflix, I can't remember.

Sloppy director, terrible characters, laughable dialogue, pretentious anti-plotting.

Chinese Bookie is probably his slowest and (comparatively) least eventful, but most of his stuff is done in the same documentary-esque style, with a total focus on character and a non-existent plot. So, maybe give A Woman Under the Influence or Opening Night a chance, but like the other anon said, he just might not be the filmmaker for you.

As an actor, he did really well in Husbands and Love Streams, also good in Rosemary's Baby

I've only seen Opening Night but I can't remember it well. I remember seeing it shortly after Black Swan and I remember them being similar.
