Well, in the books Sam is just going to become a maester (and it was probably a completely new plotline only tangentially related to the greater plot of ASOIAF). Anyhow, I'm just very interested in seeing how they portray Oldtown and the Tower in the series.

Seriously though, she think's shes playing the game, but she's all driven up by emotion and revenge.
She's nowhere near the objective pragmatists like LF, Varys or even Tyrion.
Even in that scene with pic related, everyone thinks she's the one in power, but its actually LF playing her like a fiddle.
