ITT: "Villains" who did nothing wrong
>>69964903
He called in the nukes. He fucked up
The blue cock in Watchmen
>>69964903
>>69964903
He wasn't really a "villain". But he did call in a nuclear strike that would have killed thousands of Americans, and did kill a little boy's best friend. He was a coward and an idiot
>>69965033
Ozymandias was the villain in Watchmen, you dumb fuck.
>>69965102
No, Ozymandias was framed. Big blue dick was behind it all
>>69965102
>>69964942
>>69964903
This. If he didnt make the call I'd argue that he wasnt a villian, just extremely paranoid. Could be a jab at McCarthyism
>>69965102
>would have killed thousands of Americans
>villain
lol
>>69965217
His only mistake was blowing up the tree. That action gave them the opportunity to scatter and organize. He should have exterminated them more strategically
General Zod
I still don't understand how he was supposed to be the villain. All he wanted to do was save the Kryptonians as was his mission but Superman was all "muh earth" and "muh Lois Lane".
>>69964903
Did nothing wrong
He was a huge asshole, but until the very end everyone thought he was right.
He was paranoid, but it's kind of hard not to be when you're facing a giant robot from outer space that was sent to destroy you, and the only reason you're not being slaughtered is it got a bump on the noggin.
>>69965441
Because he was too retarded to just colonize another fucking planet.
>we've been traveling the stars for decades, Superman. Since you were a baby 25 fucking years ago. We could have colonized any one of those planets but now we're here and it needs to be done right now.
>>69965504
He only went into battle mode as a defense mechanism. The Iron Giant was an exploration drone.
>>69964903
Did literally nothing wrong.
>>69965557
I have not seen the movie in some time. Was there not a scene where it randomly tried to kill some deer or something for no reason, and didn't it also repeatedly call itself a "weapon" when it's old protocols were activated?
>>69964903
Cuck and this >>69964942
>>69965217
Absolutely right
>>69965441
>>69965470
These
>>69965601
He thought the deer was a threat to the kid. Him calling himself a "weapon" was him resenting his capabilities. He's an AI, not a robot. So why would a single AI be sent to a random planet just to fuck shit up as a weapon? That doesn't make any sense. He's there as a scout. The bump on his head messed up his intelligence, and when he got his proper thinking back, after going full defense mode and fixing it, he did the right thing and sacrificed himself. So he obviously was not on Earth as a weapon.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSjqF5tR894
>>69964903
>paid to capture dinosaurs for a dino zoo
>saves idiot protagonists more than once
>idiot protagonists let captured dinos loose killing several of his men
>idiot protagonists steal his ammo to try and get him killed
The only thing he did wrong was not putting bullets in the protagonists at the start.
>>69965217
Spare us your pity, alien. You gush about your connection with nature, your primal wisdom, but what has it brought you?
Where are your marvels of engineering? Your voyages of discovery? Your great insight into the nature of the universe? Even at our basest, when we dressed as you do, dwelt as you do, hunted as you do, lived as you do, we did more than merely survive. We built wonders. We made great journeys. We forged epics. You have not.
You speak so proudly of the plugs dangling from your skulls, little realizing that they are but strings and you puppets. What little you have accomplished you attribute to the wisdom of your goddess, who is nothing but the voices of your dead echoing for all eternity. She moors you to the past, serving as a leash that keeps you as little better than apes, sad parodies of civilization that lack that special spark to become something more.
We have come to your world in search of resources. Whether your actions drive us back or we take what we want and move on, the outcome is the same. We will depart from your wretched planet, leaving you behind. And in a thousand years, you will not have changed from this contact with another world. You will remain in your trees, hunting your prey, communing with your goddess, until your sun burns out and your world dies.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
>>69965159
Actually it would be more accurate to say that it was in front of it all!
>>69965529
Wasn't that because Superman had the Krypton Codex and they needed it?
>>69965735
It's well established that it's a weapon. Fucking hell the entire point of the movie is "You are what you choose to be."
>Superman
>>69965059
>>69965819
He was right about everything.
He was innocent, misunderstood and after all, did nothig wrong.
>>69965059
fictional people only, pls

>>69966160
I honestly couldn't tell if this movie was pro-environmental or anti-environmental.

>>69966183

Christ the colonel was a badass
>>69965438
Bioweapons were the way to go
>>69964903
I only realized last year that he was voiced by Shooter McGavin
>>69966978
Watched this last night and did my best to take it from a 'you're not necessarily meant to agree with the protagonist/disagree with the antagonist' perspective but it's just so backwards
Never mind doing nothing wrong, he had all the right ideas and the people you're meant to root for want to ruin decades of painstaking conservation
>wants fiance to behave with an ounce of social decorum on the finest ship of the world
>fiance flirts with a strange man and sneaks into a restricted part of the ship (for health and sanitation reasons) to get drunk and flirt some more
>save small child
Cal did nothing wrong.
>>69967323
But he's a fucking white male, anon.
>>69966160
Was this actually said in the Movie? I don't remember this. Its a damn good statement.
>>69967625
no, it's a copypasta from a pro-humanity thread off of /x/ years ago, movie would've been a lot better if he had said it though, the speech and the attitude behind it undermine the theme of the movie
>>69967625
No, it's classic HFY
>>69966183
But Frieza fucked with Goku.
>>69966183
So many of these fucking trigger me

WHERE'S THE GIANT MANSLEY?
>>69965470
>United the Galaxy
>Removed government corruption
>United all the megacorps into a single force to be beaten up and destroyed
He was the true hero of the galaxy all along.
>But muh Death Star!
Not worse on a galactic scale than what we have on Earth in form of nukes.
>>69966160
>Where are your marvels of engineering? Your voyages of discovery? Your great insight into the nature of the universe?
Overrated desu
>>69965557
Wait, what? I was always under the impression (and this is a complete guess) that he was made by some alien race that was at war, and was only created to defend themselves, but as they started losing, they launched him into space to help some other species who is at war with itself.
The dudes from Twister did nothing wrong
>>69972019
Triggered
>>69967360
RICH white male, the rich is what makes him evil
>>69967034
It's obviously pro-religion (the na'vi (which the movie considers to "good guys") to devotion to their god and the literal deus ex machina washing away the heathen invaders in the end) and reactionary (the na'vi refusing to accept things like medicine, infrastructure, dwellings etc. More or less decline a 6000 year technology jump) while at the same time being anti-industrialist (just look at the almost comically evil humans, whose goal might be (it's never said) to save Earth with it's 11 billion humans).
But the most important thing, if not the most important thing to take with you is thatNeytiri is in fact qt

>Removed government corruption
the Trade Federation was manipulated by him to achieve his own goals. He turned them against the democratic inhabitants of the galaxy.
>United the Galaxy
sure, since there was no representation and an integrated government, by law everybody was governed by the same monolithic institution and since their opinions on it didn't matter and every former voter had to oblige to the Emprire's decrees, you can say they were a united state.
>>69965424
Edgy LOL!
>>69977245
Lucifer was about to take what was supposed to belong to him, then was tricked and flipped off.
He
>>69978107
thank you.
>>69967323
>>69976643
fun fact: Cal's character is somewhat based on the depiction of Bruce Ismay from the Nazi propaganda Titanic film, where Ismay is portrayed as a greedy money-loving man with Jewish features.
>>69967625
It's from a /tg/ Avatar roleplay.
>>69965217
This.
I'd fight for him any day
Nobody? Seriously? He was just being pragmatic.
