good taste, probably not interested much in foreign film?
have you watched other korine films?
i'd rec to you: paris, texas and lars and the real girl
>>
>>69964573
To be honest, I was put on the spot. I watch a lot of foreign film. Yet tp watch Wenders' Paris, Texas though.

I love golden era Hong Kong film. Love a bit of King Hu, Woo, WKW etc. Fallen Angels and In the Mood should be on that list.

How's Noe's I Stand Alone? Still haven't seen it.
>>
>>69964573
And yeah, I watched Mr. Lonely recently. Gummo and Kids years ago. Mr. Lonely was probably my favourite. Spring Breakers is his best imo.

you need to give a watch to julien donkey boy sometime!
mr lonely is very good, i agree
>fallen angels
terrific fit with the rest of your movies
have you watched anything from taiwan?
Tsai Ming liand, Hsiao Hsien or Yang?
i think, if you haven't watched anything by them, that you will appreciate it
>How's Noe's I Stand Alone? Still haven't seen it.
visceral, lots of monologue and leaves behind great cinematography, but the images still stick with you, as to expect from a noe film, it's edgy, and not everybody will like it
>>
>>69964855
I've had ISA sitting here for a long time. I started Love but couldn't get into it, so I'll give it another go. Irreversible is a masterpiece of cinema. I feel as though Benoit Debie is one of the greatest DP's working today - Lost River, Irreversible, Enter the Void, Spring Breakers etc. Christopher Doyle is amazing too; Fallen Angels, Chungking, In the Mood etc.

I haven't' watched anything from Taiwan, no. I'll check out those mentions. You seen Infernal Affairs?

That last shot of Michael Jackson riding the miniscooter around the race track while Mr. Lonely plays will stay with me for the rest of my life lol. No homo.

Your fav movies are all entry level and American?
>>
>>69965077
I like what I like. I've watched thousands of movies, entry level, 'patrician' and so on, and these are some I love.

>Christopher Doyle is amazing too; Fallen Angels, Chungking, In the Mood etc.
undoubtedly, i think one of his films (as a director) was on mubi last year
>You seen Infernal Affairs?
yes, but i wasn't too fond of it, nor the departed, i'm not much for mainly plot driven films
what did you think of it?
>That last shot of Michael Jackson riding the miniscooter around the race track while Mr. Lonely plays will stay with me for the rest of my life
lol, his use of music is great

>what have you been watching lately?
Whatever's been on Mubi (I'm very lazy). Nothing I've been too crazy about recently.

>what is bergman's best film?
Not sure. I will say that I find pre-Seventh Seal Bergman to be underrated. His summer films in particular ooze an effervescent charm you won't find in any of his later, often brooding and angsty efforts.

>>69964503
Seen any Kiyoshi Kurosawa or new french extremity (Ozon, Dumont, Breillat, NoƩ, Denis, etc.)?
>>
>>69965209
I'm clearly talking about the cinegrid you posted in that post you absolute fucking spastic mongoloid cunt. God no wonder you have shit taste in film , you're a legit retard.

Fair enough. I enjoyed The Departed, but after you watch it, it doesn't linger. King of Comedy and

Werner Herzog's priest character in the film was fucking hilarious too.

>>69965169
>pic related m9

>>69965214
I've seen nearly all Noe's work. Where should I start with Denis? Been meaning to take a look at her work desu.
>>
>>69965214
mubi's selection has been so shitty lately
but they got two bresson films recently so i guess that's ok
meh, autumn sonata is still his most striking work to me
do you have walkabout in your chart?
also have you seen the ugly swans?
>>
>>69965030
>implying most people in these threads aren't on letterboxd, as evidenced by the thread in which everyone posted letterboxd lists instead of grids
>>
>>69965303
Am I supposed ot be impressed by your ONE cabal tracker? Only tracker of note you're on is HDB but it's not for patrish movies although it does contain a ton
>>69965311

>>
>>69965344
then why are you still here?
>>
>>69965355
Just letting you know that you're a dumb cunt.
Keep digging that hole though before you realise there's a tombstone over it though.
>>
>>69965513
We're on an anonymous forum, matey. You don't have to overcompensate.
>>
>>69965303
>Where should I start with Denis?

Based on your chart, I'd recommend starting with 'Trouble Every Day' or 'Nenette and Boni'. Although looking through her filmography and watching whatever piques your interest is probably a better idea than taking my word for it.

>>69965304
Well, there's been plenty of stuff I've never heard of on Mubi lately, which is nice in one way. Abuladze's 'Repentance' was a pleasant surprise, as was Dwoskin's 'Dyn Amo', but other than that they've been mostly misses for me.

>do you have walkabout in your chart?
It's supposed to be in there, but I haven't gotten around to changing it.

>also have you seen the ugly swans?
I haven't, but I probably should. Would you recommend it?

Bergman's best film is Wild Strawberries

Dogday afternoon is a movie that could have been a good/average heist movie but turned out to be a total disaster. The awards it has recieved have a pure political background. Such a shame.
