I caught the last half of that movie when I was at my parents' watching some movie channel. It was as bad as I expected, but it was kind of bad in a really lazy way. Like it was clear that no one really cared what was going on, and everyone was totally going through the motions. There was zero tension, which is pretty hard to do in a Terminator movie. Maybe Jai Courtney was trying his best, I don't know, but of course he came off as the dullest man alive.
They also used that stupid fucking effect that everyone uses now where the bad guy is just like a bunch particles in the wind.

To be fair, her character was very different from t2 sarah. T2 sarah had devoted herself to preparing for judgement day, or preventing it. Genisys sarah had been told her future and was reluctantly going along with it because she had to. It was the entire point of the movie and the ending, that she had broken free from her predestined fate and now had a choice.
