Bear in mind some of them feel sorry for Polanski after the Manson murders. Gilliam I would be surprised at. He's more or less exiled himself from Hollywood now and there were issues with him doing the Harry Potter films despite a very very strong push from Rowling. Depending on how you want to read it Chris Columbus being forced in can be interpreted a few different ways.
