Enterprise (NX01) was the very best Star Trek series ever produced

Trektards can't into it because they're all fat, Roddenberry worshiping retards.
>>
i enjoyed it quite a bit

it's a great example of why sci-fi/fantasy shouldn't be on broadcast, ad supported TV.

there are more than enough fans across the world to fund shows like this, but the old TV models work better for procedural cop drama, not star trek.

the upcoming trek series on CBS streaming paid service will be a decent testing ground, but it's at a disadvantage considering how much penetration netflix has by comparison.

Everything about this show was far superior to any Trek show proceeding it.
>>
>>69870798
No it's not, but it could have been had it not been cancelled.
Everything was starting to settle, the actors were starting to really get into their roles,S3 was one of the high points of Star Trk as a whole and then it got axed.
there is no justice in this world.
>>
All the characters were just so flat and boring.
Archer was a boorish oaf who punched his way through most of his problems and whined about the rest of it.
Trip... Was from Florida.
Malcom was British.
T'pol was a bimbo in a catsuit.

The rest are even more forgettable.

>>
>>69871051
>>69871055

From the very beginning, it was evident that the cast and crew worked very hard to make it a quality show... and that quality shows.
>>
Temporal war was so fucking stupid. It should've just been a straight up cold war with the Romulans.
>>
>>69870798
Fuck no

It's better than Voyager at least
>>
I liked it
>>
DS9 is best TREK
>>
>>69870798

It's better than most people think, but it isn't one of the top 3 star trek shows.

Honestly it was really refreshing to watch a star fleet crew just sort of bumble their way around the alpha quadrant getting into trouble and starting shit accidentally. I thought bakula made for a good captain, and I really liked the continuity in the show. Like that episode where they hit a romulan mine, and as a result for the next episode they can't operate at full power and have to find a place to get it repaired. Neat.

You can pick it apart based upon your own particular tastes and prejudices, but in reality, it is clear that many viewer complaints about previous shows were purposely, and quite effectively addressed in Enterprise. Far less technobabble, greater continuity, more interesting aliens, more character-based story lines, a greater sense of reality, actual character development, were only a few of the many improvements in response to the earlier complaints.

But the tards continued to whine, nonetheless.

>greater continuity, more interesting aliens, more character-based story lines, a greater sense of reality, actual character development,
All this shit was already done in DS9 and done far better.
>>
>>69870953

One of the things that ruined Enterprise was the excessive amount of ads in its initial run which made the story lines very difficult to follow.

They even sped up the playback of the third season by 10%, and sped up the playback of the fourth season by 15% in order to put in even more ads.

Very unfortunate, imo.
>>
>>69871964

NigTrek9 was a boring soap opera with a bunch of unlikeable characters, feminists everywhere, a token nig commander, and way too many space jews.

No thanks.
>>
>>69872200

Whereas Enterprise not so subtly exposed the jew.

One of my favorite episodes in the third season, among many, was "The Shipment". The exchanges between Archer and Graelek(?) were very powerful and moving.

I just finished the Xindi arc (season 3) and it was great. I understand why it was cancelled but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the attempt to do something different with the franchise.

I really liked the Vulcan arc in the fourth season.

The augments arc - hated it, because Data, but it still did a good job covering the Klingon ridge problem.

Hated the anti-Hitler theme, because Hitler did nothing wrong, and the world would be better off today had Germany won.

The series finale was appalling.

I thought it was pretty good but would've been better as a 2-parter.
Soong wanted to prove that the augments weren't fundamentally flawed, and that humanity should embrace genetic engineering if it wants to thrive in the galaxy.
But the augments were mostly maniacal assholes in the end who murdered innocent people as easily as they murdered one another.
Plus Soong wanted to be a dad. It's nice to see how that eventually carried over to the guy who made Data.

The NX01 refit is one of my favorite ship designs in all of trek. I know I'm pretty much alone on it. I know the base NX01 design is often called the upside down Akira class as though that's a point out of its favor. I don't care. It's a hot as fuck design and the refit looked fantastic.

I read a lot of military history and love the Horatio Hornblower TV movies. Why the fuck is the idea of having marines on a spaceship so weird to Trek fans? It makes perfect sense to have some infantry in case of being boarded by hostiles or they need to do a quick raid or something.

Holy shit I had forgotten that term. Thanks for the refresher on aztecing, friendo. I'll at least give them credit for doing episodes on the outer hull that justify it a bit. The ship is more or less made of plates riveted to a fuselage like a WW2 bomber. It's still overdesigned but I can appreciate that at least some thought was put into it.

Also that repaint is damn near perfect.

The Xindi story arc was extremely tiresome to watch during the Iraq War. We saw enough death and talk about 9/11 on the news. Why did it have to be mirrored in an such an arduously long serial?

I like Trek so much that even bad Trek is preferable to so much else out there, but what we they thinking? Every episode was just one "omg 9/11 happened you guys we have to go stop the wmds" blow horn over and over again.

He talked the Xindi out of exterminating humanity, which was kinda the point of the season -- as opposed to how real life went, post 9/11, Archer had to use diplomacy to solve the crisis.

Some rogue reptilians and insects then hijacked the weapon so we could have the big action finish, but the last half of the season was humanity using reason and communication to solve the crisis, rather than just blowing shit up real good

Well of course he talked them out of it. I took that as a forgone conclusion. You may not be aware but real life also has quite a lot of humanity using reason and communication, it's just it doesn't always work. In Star Trek it does because we hope in the future we'll get better at it. I just don't think it was fruitful for Star Trek to parallel current events even partially. It added a lot of emotional baggage.
