The last time I saw someone do the calculations, around the time the movies came out, they said something similar, but they based it on the speed of the bullet in the bit where he's just lazily re-doing everything. Completely missing the part where he notices that the guys are about to get hit by the bullets and so speeds up fast enough to become invisible to the viewer, who is already seeing him in slow-motion.
