look horrible.
are americans completely retarded at model figures?
>>69845876
Those are prototypes. They're the E3 bullshot promos of toys. It only gets worse in mass production
>>69847656
>are americans completely retarded at model figures?
They're Japanese
>>69847542
>>69847656
I'm guessing they're Japanese.
>>69847693
Assuming these are Japanese, they're unlikely to differ much if at all from the final product.

>Assuming these are Japanese, they're unlikely to differ much if at all from the final product.
you would think, but they don't most of the time. Depends on the Manufacturer. PlayArtsKai for example does this an assload of times.
>>69848188
I have a lot of figures and I haven't had any such problems. Though they're all anime/otaku/Touhou, not foreign characters or stuff like Metal Gear and Final Fantasy.
>>69845876
i think i'm getting this one
>>69847656
>expecting decent likenesses from a 6", sub $100 figure
pls
>>69848400
At least with anime figures, <$100 and 1/8 scale does get you perfect likeness.
>>69848572
It's much easier to recreate the look. They can just print the eyes on the plastic without any need for sculpting in detail. That approach is actually better. Sculpted in anime eyes look horrific and way too uncanny valley
>>69845876
Spot the differences
>>69848674
The face doesn't require that much detail, but everything else can be very detailed.
These are both below $100 on Amiami, 1/8 scale.
>>69848752
they look literally identical

>>69848922
i was specifically talking about likenesses, as in how accurate the face is. on both of your statues, the actual face is simplistic.
you can't get a decent likeness of a real person anywhere in a 6" or smaller figure, especially not for <$100
Damn, I quit /toy/ ages ago. Figmas doing a movie line now?
>>69846354
The Japanese know what sells.
>>69849138
The faces are simple on the original characters too.
But yeah, as far as faces are concerned I'm sure it is a lot more work to do them accurately for real people.
>>69849185
figma has an avengers line up
mafex has a dark knight line up and an amazing spider man figure
sh figuarts has an avengers AOU line up
>manchildren and their toys
And you wodner why you are virgins....

Remember anons: Women get angry when they see men happy without them.
It's why their first insult is virginity based. They want their cunts to be important again.
>>69849476
Figures are not toys.
