I really like Patton a lot. If he ran a political podcast I might hate him because we disagree on a lot but he's funny, very bright, very intelligent and he really did work to get where he is. He spent more than a decade as a failing stand-up before he ever got any attention, and he has great stories about being a poor stand-up in SF.
I hope he gets through his wife dying, that's really just a horrible thing to go through.
Also unlike most liberal comedians I haven't heard a single word out of Patton's mouth about political correctness or not offending people. He seems to like offending people, which is a good thing in my book.

I used to think he was alright. His standup was never all that funny to me, and I didn't really like anything he was ever in, but he seemed alright.
After the whole James Rolfe thing, I can no longer say that. He's an asshole, who uses his huge following to attack people online and cause shit. He also completely missed the point: James never said the movie was bad, just that it looked bad based on what he'd seen, which is a fair conclusion to reach.
