Have you read the interviews? Even Stephen Dillane, Carice Van Houten and Liam Cunningham thought those Dragonstone scenes were dull as shit. They couldn't wait to get to Castle Black and join based Jon's story so that they could be relevant again. That was all shattered when Dumb & Dumber killed him off though and Dillane was left wondering what the fuck was the point of the story.
