>starts off as a staid CBS procedural
>turns into Neuromancer with lesbians
Sorry show. I should have paid more attention to you when it mattered.
>Person of interest s05e04
Not the same show
that shaw episodes was pretty fucked up
>>69823141
>neuromancer with lesbians
I would watch this
>>69823471
You should.
>>69823141
I liked it. Still waiting on the current season to finish so I can binge watch it.
>>69823141
I still can't get my head over how Root won the Sameenbowl, I was so hyped for Fusco about to get him some psycho pussy, then this shit happened...why?
>>69824770
Root had persistence and was willing to torture her with an iron
>>69823141
holy shit! when did it become Neuromancer with lesbians? now i gotta watch it.
Next episode when?
>>69823629
Soon, they're airing multiple episodes to burn it off as soon as possible. Hell, they're doing 3 this week
>>69825290
monday night US, 2 on tuesday night
>>69825290
CBS seems to be trying to get rid of it as quickly as possible, 3 next week, 2 the week after, then 1 a week for the last 3 episodes:
Monday 23rd May - Episode 06- A More Perfect Union
Tuesday 24th May - Episode 07- QSO
Tuesday 24th May - Episode 08- Reassortment
Monday 30th May - Episode 09- Sotto Voce
Tuesday 31st May - Episode 10- The Day The World Went Away
Monday 6th June - Episode 11- Synecdoche
Tuesday 14th June - Episode 12- .exe
Tuesday 21st June - Episode 13 - Return 0
This weird schedule they've been using has killed the ratings on the days it wasn't supposed to be broadcast as there's been no advertising for it too.
>>69825576
>>69825613
nice
too bad that they're killing it off, they could've returned it to procedural for a little while and then create some other arc like some fucking hippies that want to destroy all technology or something

One of the best episodes of anything I've ever seen.
When is he going to give the Machine guns so it can finally defeat Samaritan.
>Those episodes before Samaritan went online
God tier season
Friendly reminder that Control did nothing wrong
>>69825900
>hippies that want to destroy all technology or something
The AI are too advanced to be taken down by hippies at this point.
>>69823141
The show almost went to shit when they killed the only good female character and put the focus on those two. Damn the show was so fucking great before that.
>>69826305
control did nothing wrong but she was a dumbass not to connect the obvious dots in front of her about northern lights v samaritan
>>69824770
Because the internet loves lesbians.
Shippers are scum desu
>>69823141
>with lesbians
For like five seconds then they die.
surprise a show in its fith season is shit by now...im shocked
>>69826647
it isn't really shit tho
it's just not as good as it could be
still one of the best ongoing shows
fucking love it
>Shaw never shows any interest in rug munching
>Almost ran away with a man once
>Make her a dyke because muh shippers
The internet was a mistake.
>>69826647
They wanted to do more but found out they weren't allowed to so are rushing it.
>>69826647
>Is shit now
I've only ever seen the 50 year olds that watch NCIS and CSI bitching on the POI facebook page that the show is too complicated now and should go back to the numbers.
>>69826700
>>69826756
i just wish theyd make 1-3 season quality shows ( however conclusive/inconclusive ). one can dream
>>69826731
Shaw was hot for Carter, re-watch Lady Killer if you didn't notice before
>>69826842
you misunderstand. i like the concept and the cast i just dont like ideas being run into the ground by squirting out season after season because ratings were enough for a project to not get cancelled so now they have to milk it until they can.
Loved it since day 1. Wish there were more threads about it.
Started thinking of Michael as Harold and not Henry Gale. The man can act.
Jim Caviezel is one of my favourite actors and is the most under-appreciated actor of all time. He has immense talent and it's a pleasure to watch him.
Remember one of the first episodes when John got his ass kicked by some dude? That was so unexpected, the great super secret spy kung fu man gets defeated in a fight.
You don;t see that in many shows.
Also, despite my hate towards all manner of waifufags and shippers, Amy Acker is gorgeous.Shaw is and always was shit tho, she was a mistake
>>69826647
>shit by now
But it isn't, and the only people I've ever spoken to that think it is are the ones who preferred it when it was a procedural
Which was more forced... ShawxRoot or John kissing Carter to make her death more important?
can we get some sexy root pics plz?
shaw is a stubby spic midget
>>69827136
>root will never knock at your door, ask if you want to buy some cookies then strangle you with her thighs
>>69827136
>spic
'no'
>>69827292
she is literally perfect
>>69827136
Shaw has noodes
>You are being watched. The government has a secret system
A system you asked for, to keep you safe
>A machine that spies on you every hour of every day
You've granted it the power to see everything, to index, order and control the lives of ordinary people
>The government considers these people irrelevant. We don't
But to it, you are all irrelevant. Victim or perpetrator, if you stand in it's way
>We'll find you
So what are Samaritan's plan for that guy painting the house with the 153 IQ?
>>69828225
Did you watch episode 5 yet? Because he was in it
>>69828186
You'd think he'd be relaxing on a beach somewhere at his age. He'll be dead soon anyway, why does he care about this shit?
>>69828256
I've really got to pay more attention to how its being released.
>>69828293
Because he hates nation states and wants a robot overlord calling the shots.
>>69828293
He wants to retire but can't because the world is shit and full of terrorists and run by greedy dickheads, I don't recall exactly when but I'm sure that's what he said his motivation was sometime near the end of season 3
Tbh this show is at best, quite good.
you have to sit through two seasons of shit... but... it gets pretty fucking intense with incomprehensible CIA machinations, "HR", fake CIA, Samaritan dawning, that terrorist group....
wew, basically.
So chaps tell me more about s5 and the lesbian thing?
>>69828401
His motivation is he pretty much hates all human society.
>>69828693
>>69828821
>They've fucked 6,741 times in Shaw's head
>>69828936
No, She forgets after every simulation
>>69823141
Its a shame they are ending it, was one of the few TV shows that kept up the pace. Somehow they didn't disappoint me with the on going seasons, while the rest of the shows rarely ever tops its first season.
I believe I will wait till the season is finished so I can watch it all at once. I do hope they didn't just drop it and make the final season a joke. Hope it's ending will be satisfying.
I will miss it
>>69829004
>She forgets after every simulation
It still happened.Was it rape?
>>69828821
Amy Acker is made from pure cuteness and love.
When I die, I hope the angel of death looks just like her, she can drag me to hell without a struggle.
this is one of my favorite shows ever. it is so much fun to watch this show in its progression because they manage to get all of the characters to be interesting, i especially love the attention to detail concerning the realism of all the hacking and pc stuff and little character traits that they manage to get right and which are often recurring. villain characters are often equally as interesting as hero characters. elias is one of the coolest villains ever.
root is the best character and the best tv waifu of all time, proof me wrong
>>69829576
>>69829598
>root is the best character
I love Amy Acker but Root a shit.

I hope they didn't spoil the ending with that same attention to detail

I mean Root was flirting with Shaw since she was introduced so I feel like they've known they were going to do this for a long time. They could just be bisexual as well, no need for them to be gay.
Season 1 was so good. Caviziel's deadpan performance only added to the 2serious4u goodness. Season 2 was a complete trainwreck, dropped the series after that.
>>69829879
I've got no problem with Root being gay. They showed how obsessed she was with that other girl when she was a kid, so she's always been a muff muncher.
>after all these years, you finally became a Person of Interest, Harry
seriously?

>root is the best character

i'm a big fan of Amy but i'm ashamed to admit to never have watched Dollhouse. everything i've seen from it looks really cool though

>Season 2 was a complete trainwreck, dropped the series after that.
huh? last few episodes of season 1 and during season 2 was when the show started to blossom
>>69830196
It was a good show.
Shame they had to rush the ending because it got cancelled.
>>69830307
;_; i guess i now know what show i'll be watching next
>>69825613
CBS are contractually obligated to air it before the summer TV season starts, so they aired episode 1 the day before summer began and don't give a shit about ratings, they want it off the air and done with.
Warner Brothers are probably just happy they got to finish the show with an ending so that they can now sell the entire run on streaming services and DVDs/BluRay.
>>69823141
is Shaw coming back for the new season or has she been permanently written out of the show
>>69830458
you mean in season 5? yes she is coming back, she was pregnant in season 4 which caused the show to throw itself a bit off the rails
>>69830393
>I suppose I'm at your mercy. In fact, if you were to tie me down and spank me, I could hardly be expected to resist, could I?
>>69830562

>>69829576
She's nearly 40 and still cute as fuck.
Is it genetics, or do normal people just give up?
>>69830599
I just remembered her character bangs Felicia Day
And I am now competent puzzled as to how you lez out with a woman in a wheelchair
>>69830658

>>69830658

>>69830643
Kate Beckinsale's 42. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KjamWLWnDA
Genetics I guess. That or some Illuminati conspiracy.
>>69830393
It too gets cancelled; Alan Tyduk os pretty great in it as is the guy that was on Agent Carter.
>>69830643
Partly genetics and partly the fact that it's her full time professional job to take care of herself and look good. Iirc she comes from an upper class Dallas family, and they're known for producing tall, elegant trophy wives who age well.
>>69830825
Only in two episodes.
Two of the best episodes though.
>the show should have stayed focused on finch and reese
>Root is a meme and not a good one at that
>Shaw was pointless and should have stayed dead, missed opportunity
>fucking redditlike metahumor about their lazy writing
>"it was all a dream" episode

>>69830157
>>69831143
>>"it was all a dream" episode
If you didn't figure that out the second they found Greer I feel bad for you son, especially as we had a simulation episode last season too
>tfw shaw ruined the show for me
Root is okay though but I liked her a lot better when he was just some crazy bitch.
Did people really enjoy the last episode? That dialog between Shaw and Root before they fucked was cringe as hell.
>>69831257
I had my doubt, was only sure once she shot reese and that pissed me off.
I don't even remember last season
>>69830919DELETE THIS
>>69831335
it was a simulation, so it was obviously exaggerated to some extent
>>69831257
My doubt was that Samaritan couldn't track Shaw, total bullshit because they must have put like 50 tracking chips in her for if she ever escaped. That was a big giveaway.
Also there being no Fusco when him and Shaw interact a lot.
>>69831335
I liked it, episodes where they lose are always the best ones, although I wasn't a fan of the sex scene as I was thinking "ew, she's all sick and just had surgery", I thought it might be a sim at that point as it was weird that her injuries were gone but back in the scene after, but dismissed it as a goof at the time
>the last episode
You also missed an episode
>>69831383
Think back a second, it was the episode where the machine had a lot on it's miiiiiiiiiind
>>69831235
absolutely based
>>69831480
Ah yes, I remember now.
Still it wasn't really the same thing wasn"t it? The other shit is induced
>>69823141
Both Root and Shaw are hot though, so I don't really have a problem with the "lets make them lesbians because tumblr loves their chemistry" pandering.
>>69831994
I bet you want Castiel and Dean to fuck too.
>>69832060
Why? They're not hot?
If they were hot chicks then I'd have no problem. Two guys going at it is pretty disgusting though.
>>69831994
they had a pretty fun dynamic back before the writers decided to make them lesbians, and the forced lesbo stuff ruined their good platonic chemistry imo

>>69832421
Not really. The show itself has just dropped in quality. The Samaritan is all powerful is played out and getting old fast.
>>69832421
was it ever explicitly stated that either of them was a lesbian or romantically interested in the other? everything lesbian that has happened between them so far was an assumed simulation of their behaviour, if i remember correctly
>>69825900
Samaritan is too powerful for any other villain to seem like a legitimate threat. Best to end on a high note instead of a dragging on for years.
>>69832754
>was it ever explicitly stated that either of them was a lesbian or romantically interested in the other?
Root's been a lesbian since she was a kid. They showed her being obsessed with that girl who disappeared when she was a kid, and she's always been wet for Shaw desu.
Shaw, not so much.
>>69833211

Was this the best tweest yet? I hope he plays a role in stuff to come, one of my favourite characters
>>69833239
I was just on /ck/
>>69833292
i might just be retarded but i didn't see it coming; very glad to see it nonetheless
kind of bittersweet though since there's only, what, 8 episodes left to do anything with it?
>>69832861
That's just because of Shaw's muh no feelings shtick.
>>69833292
>Samaritan is an all-powerful god AI that sees all
>somehow missed an elaborate cover-up of an event it was actively watching
>>69833366
>i might just be retarded but i didn't see it coming
I don't think there was any way to see it coming>Sniper hired by Samaritan, who could definitely pick a sniper that wouldn't miss
>Newspapers said he was dead
>Harold and Reece seemed genuinely shocked about it and I literally can't imagine when they had the time to do it since they were saving the machine at the time and the whole time after being told
>Fusco believed it and he was the only witness and first on scene
In retrospect, I don't think the guys investigating Fusco ever mentioned Elias, just Dominic, so maybe that was a clue.
>>69833499
it's never said that samaritan doesn't know about it, it probably just doesn't care anymore becausehe's scared, in hiding somewhere, and isn't trying to rebuild his empire. he knows his place.
>>69833570
I've seen a lot of people saying thatthe evidence of his death was inconclusive (body shot, that kind of thing)but maybe that's just hindsight bias on their part
>>69833499Samaritan missed it because he shooting happened in a Shadow area, their guy reported it as a kill, and Reese, Finch, and Fusco purposely covered it up.
>>69833754it wasn't in a shadow area; after the shooting the show cuts to greer talking with control with footage of the wreck on samaritan's monitors
>>69833855The crash itself was on camera but I thought Elias had gotten just out of view of the cameras when he ran to the car?
>>69833736If Samaritan knew, Fusco should have immediately been considered a potential problem for saving a criminal it marked for death and then covering it up.
>>69833917
Elias can get out of the car on the right side and never enters the camera if he stays low.
>>69833917
>>69834179
>>69834201okay my theory's overturned since I thought elias had gotten into the driver's seat, meaning he'd have had to have been seen by samaritan when fusco made the getaway with him
i guess we don't have a decent answer for >>69833499 then
>>69833292
Not a twist so much as an asspull, I thought he got shot in the head but it has been two years so I might be forgetting
in fact Elias being alive and helping The Machine win because Samaritan lost track of him in its own blindspot death trap would be pottery

>>69823141
Seriously though, this show was originally a standard police show like criminal minds and law and order then it just got crazy out of nowhere for no apparent reason
Someone explain why Elias is such a big thing??
As far as I recall he was saved by the crew and later turned out to be some run of the mill, minor crime boss.
How is some neighbourhood drug lord suddenly of world wide importance?
>>69834874
There have been 95 episodes broadcast and he's in 20 of them
Plus, he's a great character, I'll give you a recap since you clearly don't remember
>Bastard kid of a crime boss
>Gets into crime to track him down
>He tries to murder you, kills your mother
>Kills the hitmen and escapes
>Him and his 2 friends from the orphanage form a gang and took over the streets
>Tries to go big time and the Russians are about to take him out, Reese and Finch come out of nowhere to save him
>Turns the tables on the Russians
>Take out the dons of the crime families and takes them over too
>Finch gets him sent to jail, but he continues to run things anyway
>Gets the corrupt cops on his side
>They turn on him, but Carter saves his life
>When HR kills Carter, Elias avenges her
>When they try and come back, he kills the messenger
>He knows he's about to be beaten by Dominic, so he takes out as many of his men as possible
>Makes Dominic execute his right hand man
I'm not sure if he'll help them all that much, but he knows more about the crime world than anyone, maybe even including Samaritan and The Machine seeing as he hid from both of them for a long time
>>69834874
elias, in his first appearance in s1e7, became the first POI to utterly bamboozle reese+finch; he basically set the bar for anyone else who would try to fuck with them from that point on
he's a complete mastermind and is played as a parallel to finch, someone equally as smart and skilled but applies his skills toward the crime world instead.
everything he does is genius-tier (pneumatic tube communications network to outwit samaritan+machine monitoring, eliminates all the dons, tricks dominic into killing link), and he's probably the best written character in the show outside reese/fusco/finch/carter
>>69823141
I'll be damned if I said this season hasn't started out really strong. What is it with simulation episodes that makes them so fucking good? Must be the superb character study. Right now my expectations for the next episodes are soaring.
So what exactly happened with this show? I saw 1 episode when it was new and it was good, but I never got around to watching more.
>>69838339
The Machine and Samaritan are really interesting characters and simulation episodes are basically entire episodes about their thoughts, I love them too. I also hope they bring this kid back, he was a really great actor and avatar for Samaritan.
They never did follow up on the "I want to see the President" plot yet
>>69838339
Anyone who says superb is a fucking weenie
This show is gay
I'm gonna go watch Avengers
>>69838365
Over the course of the first 2 seasons it goes from procedural crime drama with mild sci-fi elements to a sci-fi conspiracy story, by the second half of season 4 it's full dystopian cyberpunk. You should go watch it before it gets spoiled for you.
don't care
>>69840057
Great input.
