the issue with what you're listing there is that you list it under the assumption that they are going to present that material in an engaging and logical way. Judging by the first half of this season so far every single major plot development just kind of "happened". Ramsay killing Roose was uneventful, Jons resurrection felt more like everyone around him already expected him to get resurrected (hey Mel, you know some bloodmagic that can resurrect the death even though I was heavily opposed to your dumb fucking bullshit for 5 seasons and have barely any emotional attachment to Jon Snow but should still be devoted to Stannis or at least primarily care about Shireen? Oh you have? K thanks, Jon Snow is my commander now), Sand fucks killing Doran as of they read the script and that god awful "weak men will never rule Dorne again" line that was almost as bad as that bad pussy shit from season 5, Sansa barely giving a fuck that her brother was resurrected (which he must have told her since he said "we can't stay here after what happened" which suggests they at least talked about it during their prior off-screen conversation), Arya getting a 5-minute training montage that turns her from blind fool into master-assassin THEN immediately undoing that plot development by giving her her eyes back which is a completely wasted opportunity since she didn't actually do anything while blind, why make her blind in the first place then if you're just going to undo that shit 3 episodes into the next season.

However, when you introduce new characters to the story, you have he cast them age-appropriate.
You might argue that because all of the characters in the story are aging, then what's "age appropriate" could be adjusted higher to match the cast. However, this is an isolated flashback. So the characters are supposed to appear their age.
