Saw a screening of Apocalypse today and I truly gotta say that it was absolutely magnificent!
All the young actors did a superb job in their roles. Sophie Turner was truly great as Jean.
I was impressed with that Wolverine scene with how violent they made it, showing Wolverine slice his claws into many guys with bloody effects - they did not at all make it PG-13 nor tone down the violence.
That scene when Magneto slices a group of men's necks using a metal necklace was brilliant as well as Michael Fassbender's emotional performance (fucking 10/10 as always in any film he is in).
The CGI was massively improved comparing to the trailers (proving that yes so much that we see in trailers is not the final product). The shot in the trailer when we see a New York bridge be destroyed with the twin towers in the background - was terrible with the water effects and color grading BUT in the film version: it was toned down, better color graded and looked way more realistic.
Once again we get a great slowed down Quicksilver scene. I didn't really like the choice of song that played while he was moving fast doing stuff (Sweet Dreams). After all; Quicksilver has a Rush T Shirt and also later in the film we see a "I luv Rush" on one of his clothing props so why not therefore play a Rush song maybe? (I am dying to hear Rush's Far Cry track in a film).
I enjoyed this film so much better than Batman V Superman. It flowed so much nicer and never once did I disconnect myself. Each character brought a rich personal plot and goal.
That opening credits shot with the main theme music as we get in all the other X Men - this version has become my favorite. I loved the use of Egyptian symbolisms, a Swastika, even a sculpture of Jesus carrying the cross - considering this film dwells deep into religion mythology, it was great to see all this.
All in all an 8/10 highly enjoyable film.

I suppose a religious message of this film: Apocalypse represents Satan, Prometheus, Enki, the Egyptian Serpent Sebau - the Pagan Gods with the same similarities: they wanted to overthrow the world with powerful knowledge.
Read the Islamic Qur'an: it states how God created 2 beings: humans and the powerful Alien Jinn which many humans bowed down to and received occult knowledge - so basically Apocalypse is a Jinn.
This film did a great job at having all these religious mythologies into the story.

Sophie Turner was OK, but she was nowhere near great.
She was better than I expected though.
Wolverines scene seemed very tame. Especially after the brutal way the horsemen at the start kill the people, and the way they themselves die.
We see Magneto slice a bunch of guys throats, Apocalypse decapitate 3 dudes, and then wolverine just playfully claws at a few people and stabs them. It was nothing we haven't seen him do in any of the other films, when really he should have been more animalistic and savage.
Quicksilver was great. Although I wonder how they will deal with him in the next film. He is way too OP, being able to empty out the entire mansion and stop for a drink in just a few seconds.

While I agree for the most part and with the score itself, I'd say there was too much CGI even though most of it was pretty nice. I went into the 3D version and it was fucking awful to watch at the cinema
The X-Men franchise is the best capeshit franchise there is honestly. MCU is nice but way too generic and bland to be worth a second watch. Doesn't apply to Phase 1 though, I could rewatch the shit out of Iron Man 1, Incredible Hulk, Captain America 1 and Thor 1

I could've watched the 2D OV (english) version but I thought I would be going to the cinema with more people (ended up going with my gf) so I got tickets for the 3D (german) version.
