This movie sucked. It looked like shit, was beyond even the most liberal use of suspension of disbelief, and was basically a by-the-book, cliche-ridden sports story for musicians. Only reason people praise is because of JK Simmons.

Love this film. Remember watching it thinking how little plot-wise there was until I noticed myself gritting my teeth throughout the drumming sequences. Excellent piece of film making, tonally and thematically, great acting throughout and excellent soundtrack.
