First of all, it isn't Psycho, it's just based on it. Secondly, only a fucking child would quit so easily with how good the show is - the weed thing isn't even part of the story for very long, it just helps as a tool for people getting away with crimes/non conventional ways of doing things.

I rewatched Psycho yesterday to get a feel for what they would do next season.
One issue is that Psycho is very tame compared to Bates Motel. The people he/mother have killed on the show are a lot more important than Marion who just shows up out of the blue. Hopefully the show makes a bigger deal out of finding the money to put more heat on Norman and make him do more drastic things than kill 2 a couple of people and hide his mother in the basement.
Also, I know Psycho is old but how did they ever think that scene where the investigator falls down the stairs was good? I thought Hitchcock was supposed to be a genius of cinema.

only people who don't value their time watch serialized TV episodes
barely any TV makes sense compared with movies or novels, and even then mostly where it crosses over with pulp/adventure/genre fiction: novel premise, intriguing characters, new adventures every episode (that get resolved each episode).
unless they've got a good reason to stretch the same plot out over 12-24 hours, then you're just being strung along by TV producers that want to keep you just engaged enough to keep watching longer. it's selfish on their part
spend that much time on a novel and you'll know these people (and even whether you think it's a good book); watch a movie, and you've some key ideas thrown into sharp relief; watch a TV show, and you're engaging in a pretty unsatisfactory ritual that doles out the action, details, and character development with a god-damn eyedropper.
