There is zero plot, zero mystery, zero surprises.
The characters are incredibly uninteresting and boring and all share the same variations of the same moral dilemmas. The setting never changes, it's always eternal summer, the villians never serve any concrete purpose other than to drive a meandering pointless story, seriously why do people watch this show?

That's been the trope of zombie stories since Night of the Living Dead. This season did something different by playing out the "go out to sea" strategy a lot of people have bombarded the franchise with for years.
It only becomes a repeat of the main series specifically if it starts introducing repetitive villains and long soulful monologues about how "ITS NAWT LIKE IT YUSED TAH BE ANYMOOOORE"
This whole show is just a way to give backstory to The Whisperers from the comics, who the characters will become at the end. Then it will tie in directly to TWD after going for about 4 or 5 seasons.
