When are you finally going to get around to doing this, /tv/?

You do realize that everything on Netflix is available online for free, right?
>>

Being able to binge 5 or 6 eps of something without getting up is worth a couple of bucks. Be more successful in life then 10 bucks a month wont be such a big deal
>>
>>69648476
>having Netflix makes me successful

This is what low-income slobs in America actually believe.

You're not. You're just a broke nigger that doesn't want to pay for shit, so you steal it instead.
>>

...can also be done for free via countless ways online.
>>
>>69648392

Not really, it would take 5 years to download all the X-FIles episodes and then they would take up like 60GB of HD space sitting there

You can stream them in HD for free if you have nigger-tier internet and only your mom's old laptop to store them in, Mr. NEET.

It's close enough.

Sneaking into a movie theater for a movie or a stadium for a concert/ sporting event TECHNICALLY isn't "stealing" either, but it's all the same shit.

It's bad enough that you do it. What's far, far worse is that you're PROUD of it. Which is pretty laughable.

Yes. Exactly.

Imagine owning a bunch of cows (your computer, internet connection, media center, etc) which will produce milk for you for free but instead you go and buy milk from a store (Netflix, cable box, etc) instead of producing your own entertainment with what you already control and own.

This is why globalism is killing the American economy. Americans are so conditioned to pay for things and depend on multinational companies instead of being self-sufficient that they toss money, their personal details, etc out the window for just a little bit of Netflix and other meaningless entertainment.

Netflix offers pretty good HD streams on most devices and it remembers where I was. And hey, if I want to watch the next episode right now I can.

I split the account with my brother and it costs me $1 a fucking week.

well, I do both. I share the netflix with a few friends so the cost isn't even noticeable. It's good for browsing and binging too obviously. However the internet in my area is slow as fuck so the lag and picture quality is awful. it makes more sense to pirate. TPB tends to have everything I want anyway.

My "high speed" internet is very slow by normal standards, but there are literally no other options than moving to an area with better service. Websites like Netflix and Youtube stream very fast. If I try to stream via other websites I have to wait an hour for the movie to load enough so that I can start watching it, and then pray to God the connection doesn't crap out. Or I have to spend 1-3 hours downloading the movie and wait for it to finish. $10 per month is much cheaper for me than wasting hours of my time each week queuing/downloading shit.

But none of these hold water. Piracy is atleast as convenient as Netflix if not more and offers better choice of movies. Quality is the same or straight up better. And there is no street cred on the internet.
>>

>Most of the shows from the 90's and earlier look better on Netflix than they do in the best torrents currently available.

>>
>>69648392
Nah famm, there's more to it than that. I agree with your statement while you can find anything and everything (pirated) online, most of the times you pirate (download) specifically or directly something you were already looking for let's say Man of Steel or Narcos, you search them and you dl them. The thing here is your library will be filled with things you've already seen or have some notion about it. While in Netflix even with their small catalogue you might wonder and scroll around "hey that movie about a dog playing basketball looks interesting" and you will watch it and find out there are like 3 other movies of the fucking dog doing things dogs shouldn't be able to do , and you'll remember there is more than just crime dramas and capekino .

tl;dr basically netflix is exactly like when you went to blockbuster you would go searching for something specific , and then some box art would catch your eye and you would end up taking the one you wanted TMNT and Balto the one that caught your eye, and sometimes you won't find what you wanted to watch. Torrenting or pirating is exactly like going to that shady street corner where you bought your bootleg star wars episode 1 vhs...
