I enjoy DC and Marvel heroes and villains. But if you're going to put them against each other, Civil War was a better acted, better written, better directed flick with a coherent storyline. I wish BvS was the best capeshit movie to date, but it was horribly bad.

Marvel cinematography is terrible. Every single shot is designed to save as much money shooting as possible, that's why every single fight scene is an overcast day.

Marvel - one coherent storyline

DC - hey I've got a brilliant idea, let's take elements from all these different story lines:

-The inception of the justice league
-The dark knight returns
-The flash paradox
-A death in the family
-Superman vs doomsday
-The death of superman
-Crisis on infinite earths
-Darkseid war

and we'll just sort of forcebly mash them all together into one giant clusterfuck of a story, fans will love that.

Nobody with a sane might would even think that BvS can compete with Civil War.

In fact Civil War perfectly illustrates why BvS was such a huge failure despite being essentially the same movie

>>69644692
Civil War is a very well constructed film but i think it's actually pretty mediocre and nowhere near as good as The Avengers films or Winter Soldier. It was actually kind of insulting how out of character Steve, Tony, and Natasha were throughout the film, their characterizations were absolutely terrible and the Sokovia Accords were a poorly written plot device that really doesn't make any sense.

Not to mention freezing Bucky up again at the end almost completely defeats the entire purpose of the film. There were so many more interesting and logical routes they could have taken throughout the film but they constantly neglected them in favor of artificially constructed, lowest common denominator conflicts. As someone who has been a big fan of the Marvel films, Civil War felt like Feige spitting in my face. It has killed any interest I have in the upcoming films

are you implying 2001 is a good movie? no, no memery. like, honestly? movie was fucking shit man. boring, uninteresting. effects were good, the rest was trash. guy goes to space and becomes a fetus. what a fucking masterpiece of shitdom. its a BAD movie but it looked good. thats the problem with you idiots. you think 2001 and rosebud are fantastic, best of the best movies. but theyre not. 2001 was good for effects. anal rosebud was good for how it was structured/ theyre both shit, but they had a lasting effect on future films, which is why people compare newer movies to them. plebs like you think this means theyre the cream of the crop and end up making yourselves look stupid

Current Marvel method: Substance over style
Current DC method: Style over substance

Neither elevates the material to its fullest potential, but at least on the Marvel side they've had the sense to build their brand over time and make it inclusive to general audiences. DCs stubbornness to emulate that formula is why they're in 2nd place, or rather 3rd after Fox.
>>
>>69645091
>that's why every single fight scene is an overcast day
You see, the reason why they do this is so the audience can actually see what's going on in the fight scenes. Marvel's cinematography has always been purposedly simple for that reason. They're not trying to make art, but entertainment, and that's why they succeed more than DC.

hey, why does a regular movie-going individual care so much about the monetary gains of a movie? I don't fucking understand. Are you literally basing your opinion of the movie on how much money it makes? Are you genuinely this motherfuckingly autistic? Do you even know how to formulate an original thought or are you doomed to unknowingly parrot each and every thing you've ever witnessed without even the slightest understanding of what any of it means, you fucking cockloving nigger piece of shit. Go drown in a fire.

I didn't feel they were in character at all.

In every movie leading up to this one Tony Stark had a strong record of not trusting big government bureaucracies and has been established as not wanting the government to have control over him or his tech. Now at the flip of a switch is ready to give all control over himself and The Avengers to a UN Panel. It's such a drastic change of heart that comes out of nowhere with no real weight or motive behind it. People accept it because everyone already expected him to be for it because of the comic, but the actual character in the movies is not one who would have made that decision.

The Winter Soldier basically ended with Black Widow saying "screw you" and walking out on a congressional panel trying to hold her responsible for her past. Again out of nowhere here comes the sudden reversal. There was no real reason for her to sign the Accords at all. She had absolutely no motivation for it other than to create extra conflict. If the writers had half a decent idea they'd have mentioned that the only thing keeping her from prison for the things she'd done, and keeping old enemies from coming at her, was her status as an Avenger and that if she didn't sign it would be basically open season on her. Then you'd have a real reason for her to sign it. I also couldn't believe for a second that she'd actually walk into battle against Clint and Steve. It's just not who she is at this point.
>>
>>69653653
As for Steve, the thing that really annoyed me was how dedicated he seemed to be at getting into a fight with Tony. When Cap and Sam have Bucky's arm trapped in the vice Sam even suggests calling Tony and trying to explain to him but Steve immediately dismisses the idea and takes the path of greatest confrontation. He hardly takes one levelheaded action throughout the entire film.

I also don't understand why Steve was against the accords to such an extent. If anything the way the Accords appear in the film you'd actually expect Steve to be for them and Tony and Natasha against, since they're presented in so narrow in scope that the only impact it has on him is basically making him a soldier again. He doesn't have the Anti-Government, Rogue Agent history that Tony and Natasha have to justify being against them. At the very least Agents of SHIELD actually addresses the Accords in a broader context than the film managed to, but without it Steve's argument and stance doesn't hold as much weight as it should.

At least use the final rating for Civil war
