I often see movies/shows labelled as "reddit" here. What's the definition of reddit?
Something that doesn't pander to /pol/.
This thread is literal reddit
Mentioning Reddit.
>>69641121
Something mediocre, predictable and easily marketable to self proclaimed nerds
>>69641121
A reddit movie is characterised by, but not limited to, pandering, self-awareness, shallowness and superficiality.
>>69641121
Movies that are typically shallow and only made as a cash grab, but somehow these people cling to them like they're some kind of godsend. Example: superhero movies

The only true answer
Self-awareness, meta qualities are definitely a red flag
Movies that acknowledge tropes but then commit to them anyway, like a general tone of smugness.
Something that doesn't even try to be original and interesting.

>every film ever made is reddit
can't argue with that logic
>>69641121
it lost all meaning. people use it as a synonym for "I dont like it" mostly
>>69641121
""""""reddit movies"""""" are flicks that are self-referential and are circle jerking and shilling towards an obvious niche group (e.g. ONE OF US, JUST LIKE ME) but are mainly made for the unwashed masses
they often contain quips and humour that can be easily shared via funny gifs and screenshots (e.g. MEME OFF BRO, LETS REDDIT THE SHIT OUT OF IT)
>>69641121
safe, panders to the audience, tends to have a perception of being a "nerdy" film when in reality it's smack in the middle of pop culture. You know, reddit stuff
>>69641807
Don't forget awkward humor, running jokes into the ground and "lol so quirky, amirite?"-characters.

when the fuck are you artistic faggots going to leave jlaw alone?!?!

Steins;Gate is pure imageboard user pandering
>>69642961
Pretty sure in the dub only, in the original version the clearly mention 2chan.
Also in the Inuyashiki manga this place gets mentioned in the translation notes of the first volume.

It was most likely one of the screenwriters interns that made an off-hand remark once and somehow made it into the movie. Screenplays for blockbusters usually have a dozen or more writers of varying levels of influence.

>My daughter had to dress up as an inspirational figure for school and she chose Joan of Arc. We worked at the costume for a week straight to make it perfect. We've never done anything like this before and after a lot of stress and work, I think it turned out great!
