Yeah there were a ton of deaths, and yes even of major characters completely out of the blue. Some deaths were unfair, in the middle of their story arc, but they weren't just for shock value. Their deaths had meaning, they caused ripples in the story and lasting effects, the death was as equally as part of their story arc and they kind of lived on in that way. Now it just seems like they're trying to cut the roster in half so they're killing just a ton of people and they're like "Look, it's an important character because they once had a speaking role! React to this, Youtubers!" without thinking about who they're actually killing.
Compare the deaths of these characters and how important of a moment and how much it changed something for a character or a bunch of them:
