I have read the books, and I have genuinely looked at Stannis as a character. A lot of Stannisfans forget this, but before Stannis saves the Wall, he's a pretty huge dick. His interactions with others, even Davos, paint him as a stubborn fuck and you can kind of understand why Renly and lots of other lords feared a realm under Stannis's rule. No. thats why bittersweet ending is a thing since long before GRRM. He can have an ending where everyone dies. But he cant have a ending with boltons, Freys or Tywin outright wining, or an ending where the heros never put up a good fight. Or an ending where the heros win almost without any trouble. I've seen this theory before and while I agree with the theorist on a lot of things, I disagree with him on this. The Boltons don't flay Starks because they see them as less than human, the Boltons flay Starks because they're edgy fucks who flay all of their enemies.
We have seen the Boltons flay ironmen, squatters, northern peasants, Cerwyns, Hornwoods and more. It's not a Stark-exclusive punishment they give.
Though, I do have zero evidence for any of my racial speculations, they're just speculations of course. But if the Others are mutated humans with a gene pool of heavy inbreeding, which we can see leads to defects, mental illnesses, health problems and violence, then I could definitely see the very pale skinned, pale eyed Boltons as being an attempt of First Man-Other interbreeding.
