Id argue between this and 2, I liked how 2s plot felt more natural and less movie like. Dont know how else to explain it. The other 2 are kindof weak to be honest, 1 is ok but 3 is hot shit.
>>69392370
Oh shush.
>>69392370

Away with you. The first one is fantastic and shows a distinct period in the Mad Max canon. Also, that Kawasaki 1000 and Police pursuit livery are reasons alone to watch it. Plus, the antagonists are some of the most despicable scum in an action movie.

>>69383875
Conan is 10/10, this may seem plebian but I assure you it is the enlightened opinion.
there are very, very few movies that so masterfully combine sight, sound, and story. It's one of the best fantasy movies ever made, is brutal and existential, gritty and triumphant, simple and brilliant. John Milius + Basil Poledouris is a match to rival Spielberg + John Williams.
This shit is just pure cinema, the essence of why movies should be made. This is pure visual storytelling; show, don't tell.
Best scenes: Wheel of Pain transformation (survival of the fittest, absolutely fucking brilliant), Conan witnesses his mother's murder, Subotai standing guard as Thulsa's riders traverse a ridge in the distance, Conan's prayer to Crom, Conan burning down the Mountain of Power.
This is a story of a simple, savage man who seeks revenge in generally corrupt and brutal world, and ultimately ends up dismantling an evil cult and demonstrating a powerful message to live and think for oneself.
fucking LOVE this movie.

Cont.
I've also analyzed the message/theme of Conan far more than most man-children, and I think it's very powerful:
The lesson is that each individual must strive to discover the truth in life, even if this means rejecting everything you've been taught by your society or parents.
Conan had 2 fathers in this movie, his biological father and Thulsa. His real father placed his faith entirely in steel, Thulsa's faith was in the power of flesh.
Both philosophies were dismantled by the end of the film; Conan's father's sword had shattered, and Thulsa was proven to be a mere mortal. Conan even questions the worth of his own God, realizing that only he himself can determine the outcome of the fight.
In a way, Conan ushers in a new age of enlightenment by the end of this movie. I think the princess character represents the masses who cannot think for themselves and are easily led astray.
