The crime committed by blacks in America have a correlation to the environment they are raised in. I agree that it is not the only cause for violent crime, but one can't help but look at the perpetual decline of certain areas populated not only by blacks, but by a majority of poor people and not get why people living in that circumstance with little options would choose to act violently. There's no justification for this violence or crime, but it seems more logical to go after the root cause rather than to keep going after the symptoms. You can say black people are violent, but it offers no real insight or understanding and seems to imply an emphasis more on inciting a reaction rather than a discussion is my guess as to why reddit gets sensitive (although they are sensitive to a number of things).

It isn't really the crimes themselves though. There's an inherent systemic issue with the way our cities are run. It doesn't even matter what political stance you have, everyone pretty much agrees that individuals at the highest and lowest levels of government are corrupt. What they do affects the way people make day-to-day decisions. When you have a group of people being ignored and kept in a cycle of poverty and incarceration they act out. Personally, I don't justify those acts, but I also don't think people who react to these stories do either. I feel like it's a false argument to take someone on with that assumption.
