Who came up with the poster and trailer treatments? Did Giger have direct input on these, or did another design person come in and use a more literal "egg" for both?
Both the craggy eggs of the trailer and poster remind one of the Planet from the opening of Eraserhead, released shortly beforehand. Of course, the egg/planet unity also suggests a single Bad Thing That Musn't Be Explored.
