Cook's Birthday was the best episode of the entire series, even if the 1st gen cast was the best.

I never managed to finish S7, only made it through the Fire part. First gen was probably the best written of the series but I thought the second gen had much better characters and had some of the most touching moments. It didn't help its cause by having the worst fucking opening episode I've ever seen.

Same, I watched it all on 4od once it was finished. Then I watched it all again when s7 came out. I think 5+6 get a lot of shit but they've got the cheekier aspect that 1 and the first half of 2 had without so much of the slightly excessive drama of 4 which people seem to remember the most.

I watched my roommate watch some of the first season and I thought it looked pretty terrible honestly. The acting didn't seem good and a lot of the situations were just silly.
Boring and unwatchably unbelievable at times. Pointlessly depressing. Trying to make a show good by just making it depressing and having likeable characters have bad things happen to them doesn't work.
