I'll be honest with you guys. I'm in my 30s, and when somebody my age tells me that they enjoy watching comic book movies and even take them seriously (this includes JJ Trek Wars), I immediately think of them as inferior and/or mentally and emotionally stunted.
These dumb movies are basically 90s-era Schwarzenegger or Seagal action flicks dipped in an acid bath of nostalgia.
Pic related is your typical Marvel/DC/Star Wars fan.
(This criticism is not at all directed towards children or adolescents. I think these movies would be a lot of fun for a kid and would definitely take my kid to see them. But I seriously want to vomit when a grown man tells me that he is going to the midnight showing of a comic book movie for kids. While dressed up as a comic book hero. By himself. I honestly don't know why North Carolina hasn't banned this behavior yet.)
