You are missing the point of that scene if you think this is only about the son of that specific woman.

You forget the fact that the Avengers created Ultron.
Tony specifically.

So I've been on Reddit for about 7 years now. I'm a moderator on several popular boards, including /r/4chan. I will try to give you guys an unbiased, objective outlook.

Reddit's main problem is its karma system. It encourages users to post content which the majority will agree with rather than something that may be controversial (but still contributes to the conversation). Because of this, most communities become predictable and boring.

This is the lifespan of a submission on your average default subreddit:

- 1 minute in: your submission will most likely be downvoted into obscurity. The reason behind this isn't necessarily because your submission sucks, but there are other people who just made submissions and are downvoting every other new submission in an attempt to have theirs noticed quicker.

- 10 minutes in: if you managed to survive this far, your submission may start picking up steam. You'll see the first comments start to roll in. They will be mindless, vapid, and generic things like "omg i spit my coffee out after seeing that!" The reason there is no effort put behind them is that they want to be the first to post before everyone else. The sooner you post, the more likely your comment will be seen and upvoted.

- 3 hours in: whoever managed to comment first on your submission will now be the highest voted comment, regardless of how little it contributed to the conversation. Since your submission will have so many comments at this point, more people will start replying to the top comments. The reasoning behind their comment will likely be noticed quicker leading to more karma for their account. These replies are just as vapid as the original comment. Pun chains are very common. Remember: as long as they get that reply before other people, they're more likely to get upvotes.

- anything afterwards: barely any comments are posted, because why even bother? Their comment won't be seen under the mass of thousands of other posters.

Tony Stark, the upstanding citizen willing to put everyone on a government watch list, who's so afraid to let Wanda roam free he actually tasks the Vision with keeping her on house arrest, the man who wears a bleeding edge walking tank armed to the teeth with lasers, repulsor rays, missiles, and assorted high-tech gadgetry, is so afraid of being outgunned, he'll recruit a 15-year-old boy to take part in a confrontation against a man he knows to be a deathly dangerous, brainwashed assassin with literal decades worth of training and experience.

What a hero.
>>
isn't it funny how Civil War made BvS look good?
>>
Really enjoyed the movie (the Spidey/Stark stuff was fucking great) but it seems like there are no lasting consequences. I have a feeling that as soon as Thanos shows up next movie everyone is gonna be back together again. They should've at least killed Rhodey and possibly Cap, then had Bucky replace him.
Still really good, possibly my 2nd favorite Marvel film after Winter Soldier.
>>
>>69182830
That's when Tony's going to use the phone. The next few movies will have a running subplot where everyone who didn't sign the accords are in "fugitive mode" whenever they leave Wakanda. All with zero actual consequences.

Calling it.
>>
I understand the villain's motivation, but it seems like a huge stretch from him to even come up with such a plot much less execute it.

Where did he get the resources to even set up Bucky? How did he know about the Winter Soldier and Stark's parents in the first place? Wasn't it awfully convenient for him for the Avenger's to be strained because of things they were already doing and that treaty?

It was a Skyfall "scheme." It relied on him knowing things he realistically couldn't and timing and predicting things completely outside his control.

Anyone remember whether his EMP bomb was set to a timer or just set to go off when the crate was opened?
>>
>>69182741
A good way to fall asleep.
>>
>>69183178
It wasn't stated, but it didn't go off as soon as it opened. It was either on a long timer and would have gone off after it was up, or was set to go off maybe 10 seconds after being opened.

The next movies are very outside the Avengers line.

Dr. Strange is more groundwork for the celestial side of Marvel, and will smooth out the infinity stones. Guardians 2 is on the other side of the galaxy. Spider Man is fine because he got to go home after Civil War, he was kept a secret from the various governments. Thor 3 is on the other side of the galaxy as well, and it's going to be like Dr. Strange in paving the way for Avengers 3. Black Panther is the movie that will be the glue between Civil War and Avengers 3.

Besides, all of the heroes showing up when the world is in danger, particularly on the scale of Thanos, doesn't sound ludicrous. When Fury was arguing with the council about the Avengers initiative and they asked him how he can be sure they'll help, he replied with "Because we'll need them to."
>>
>>69182659

He's only done it once before, I thought it was a neat effect, and a way to not just have him wreck everyone.

>Just have Cap say "now we are in Lagos"
>>
>>69183043
The film did a very bad job of conveying his backstory. That guy is supposed to be one of the Baron Zemo's, who is incredibly cunning and has been working with and researching Hydra's work since Cap's origin, but they never used the title "Baron Zemo" for him. If you knew about Baron Zemo, which most people don't, it would make sense. If you knew he was supposed to be Baron Zemo, which I didn't figure out until they said his actual birth certificate name near the end of the movie. That's my major gripe with the movie, because they could have easily explained that instead of having him listen to that dumb recording over and over again.

GUISE.

I-I-I th-think this shot is really c-cool. L-look at the way he p-played into all the valid c-complaints about Superman's characterization instead of actually humanizing him into a r-relatable protagonist. O-of course, doing that would be stupid when you can j-just play the "mommy" card.

But there were consequences. Death in a comic book is negligible, case in point Quicksilver and anyhow we're desensitized to people dying.

I think it's cool that it was put in precisely the right place to make it stick in people's heads. Some of us questioned why it was there, and what it says about what's going on with the character.

God, don't be the bigger guy, that's not what 4chan is for. I don't come here to feel like I'm the asshole. black widow released hydra\sheild's digital files to the internet in the climax of winter soldier, so he had almost all the knowledge he needed to engineer the breakup of the avengers save for the actual surveillance tape of the murder, which he spent the entire movie luring cap and iron man to

as for the avengers being strained, his motivation is literally the same as everyone else's outside of the avengers organization, including the UN. everyone was pissed at the avengers, irrationally and rationally, for the death and destruction that surrounds them, and one guy was pissed enough to try to outright destroy them.

I know where you're coming from. I actually think that's what Supes is going to figure out. He's got to open up and actually interact with people on a personal level to dispel that whole "god-like savior of all mankind" thing.

In a neat way, it would bookend nicely with that first conversation we see him having with the priest in MoS.

>that's not what 4chan is for
I honestly used to feel exactly the same way, but recently I realized that it was poisoning me. Instead of venting my own anger and frustrations, I found myself increasingly have my behavior here and other places bleeding over into my thoughts in day-to-day interactions. Since then, I'm making an effort to always be my best self. I think people deserve that.
