Forget the children, the biggest plothole in this series is the fact the White Walkers arent the dominant beings in both Westeros and Essos. The white walkers can turn your dead soldiers into their soldiers that they can continuously animate while at the same time freezing the climate making it suicidal to fight them at long times. The technology of the First Men was Bronze Age tier so there is no way in fuck they even made a dent in White Walker armies.
