I'll just chalk up the other gods existing to them being more experimenting by God. It all matters on perspective. I think people try to bring what they believe into how they examine things and that is where they're mislead. Sort of like someone using an IP to make a movie, or television show but only using the name and not underlying traits of the character.

Well before season 6, in season 5 the other gods from other religions seemed to think they came first from their perspective, so maybe angels/god didn't show themselves until later and were there the whole time.
I try not to delve though too much because it is clear writers will overwrite their own show's mythology whenever it suits them.
Especially Grim Reapers/Death as an example.
They either killed death or his avatar.. When they lost grim reapers, people stopped dying yet actual embodiment of Death can die and nothing happens? Or perhaps Death was the bottle holding Amara in and she was death all along.

Hell the brothers never used magic enough even though they've got the resources. Some aspects like levis and alpha worked to a degree on the lore front (purgatory, first of gods creations and origins of some monsters).

yeah, I remember when Castiel was introduced. Him just trying to speak to Dean, and how normal physical damage seemed pretty difficult to inflict on them, especially to even phase them. The only thing that seemed to do the trick was their own weapons.

Was a decent episode; though as a believer, I found a few of Chuck's jokes a bit edgy and close to the knuckle. Over all though, it was good. It is clear they are going to have God do the ultimate sacrifice to stop Amara. And I am half-wondering if we aren't going to a variant of the Lucifer ending where he and God reconcile, and he does in fact end up God from now on.
Killing God never rings true, as it kind of misses the point of eternal, but it's been done enough in this sort of fiction that it doesn't surprise me.

I understand the nature of planning a show out only a year at a time plus dealing with different show runners. I mean Sera Gamble is now involved with The Magicians and Hunters, so she definitely lands some decent IPs to interact with I just have a feeling that even if you remove her before season 6, they had no plan to go past season 5, and they certainly did not expect to still be going for 7 more years.
So, has chuck/god still been directing the universe? What he writes happens, do things happen if he doesn't write (supernatural if the book is even still an ongoing joke/actually effecting events)?
