Only shit annoying is the usual modern color correction apply to the photography (green grey filter in that case), which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in the frame of this movie (when you film using natural lighting you should use natural color grading, see The Revenant).
I found this completely underwhelming. It was like a weaker, much more shallow version of The Crucible, albeit with some beautiful gothic imagery... the type of imagery Antichrist did much, much better.
