I'd want a CRT, because napping the glass of the tube would be great for making arrow and spear heads. Have you see those things smashed on the road? The glass is like 3 inches thick. A lot of margin for error.
VHS tapes could be a kind of string. Also, all the wires inside the TV wouldn't amount for much, and I can reasonably identify north, but having a speaker, to use the magnet to make a compass would be kind.
A projection TV would offer me three magnifying glasses to start fires with. I don't know that I can make fire with two sticks, even if I've seen Quest For Fire like 30 times.
