Hey guys, I'm that filmmaker-anon from a few days ago who entered the film festival.
Well, I didn't win the award for my category. But I don't care what anyone says, I had the best damn film of the whole mother fucking festival.
Thing is, all the other contestants were film students who were supposedly going to school to learn the art. Me, however, I'm not stupid enough to join film school. I just make films because I fucking need to, not to get a grade to pass a class. You can't learn art, you either have it or find it within yourself. They must not be teaching them right because I know that I objectivity had the best costume and sound design out of anyone else. Well, see for yourself:

I loved Green Ruin and I can't wait to watch Blue Room.
I don't know if they're making the movie sound darker than it is or if it is that much heavier than Blue Ruin. But Blue Ruin wasn't that awful, I mean it certainly has it's tone and it's not a lighthearted film, but it's not the type of movie where you wanna kill yourself after. It's just a very understated drama. It was terrific, don't get me wrong, but I didn't leave it feeling like I'd just been torn apart emotionally by it.
