Powerful, emotional, meaningful, symbolic and iconic. Literally no other cape movie compares. And the sad part is there are those who disagree.

While it is not free from flaws, it's powerful message and meaning will make it stand the test of time as the most important super hero film of this generation.

what is the powerful message of man of steel?

I agree OP

Couldn't agree more.

The OST alone beats anything any other competing franchise has done thus far.

A message of faith, not on God but on the people around you, and that sacrificing for them is worth it.

Also
A good death is its own reward

I'm a Marvel guy, and this was my first DC movie - just watched it the other day. Movie seemed great, but the pacing / length of fighting scenes just seemed wierd. Something just jfelt off, idk

This moment, literally the apotheosis of super heroic moments in cinema

As one man, spends his entire life force to save not, one, but 6 billion people, not even his own people, and choosing to turn away the remaining few of his own kind that menace us.

literally all other forms of "heroics" as portrayed on the silver screen are of no consequence in comparison.

That music.
That sound design.
That powerful imagery.
That raw emotion.

if I hate basically all capeshit (don't ever go to even watch it these days) but I liked Batman vs. Superman, will I like Man of Steel?
>>
>>69044848
The fight scenes are better thought out than what meets the eye on first viewing.

>>
>>69045072
Probably. It has that same heavy environment. Man of steel is a little more uplifting and it's honestly more of an eye-feast than BvS
>>
>>69045072
>but I liked Batman vs. Superman, will I like Man of Steel?

you'll definitely like Man of Steel
>>
>>69044515
What's surprising is that the first time I watched the film the entire narrative, of superman choice, flew completely over my head
>>
>>69045117
>thinking out fight scenes
and that's the problem
>>
>>69045072
It sets up a lot of the themes explored in BvS, its not as dark, but it's one of the finest examples of super heroism on feel, while not hiding behind false pretenses, it's effects and consequences are heavy.

Thanks guys. As I said I really hate capeshit but I dig Snyder so I will definitely give this one a shot. His visuals are just too gorgeous.
>>
>>69045072
i thought man of steel was solid/okay when i saw it, i was only irked by the cuts. if it had less cuts and did the camera work i would have done i would have probably loved it

I'm saw bvs and was fully into it

Its about as good as Thor.

And Thor was decent.

An epic rousing score

While the competition continues to JUST themselves with unmemorable and forgettable background noise, Man of Steel proudly gives us one of the most emotional and evocatic super hero scores of the modern age

>about as good as thor
>decent

the real question is whether people without eyes can be objective in judging a movie's merits?
>>
>>69044903
More people saved does not = more heroic.

A stoic asshole saving people by proxy is not more heroic than a common man risking his life to save someone from a mugging.

This is all the more important in film. The scene is good. But supes saving 6 billion people doesn't make it inherently more heroic. Heroicism is all in risk and bravery and payoff. A person ready to risk his life for one other person is more heroic than one who risks it for 6 000 000
>>
>>
i dont know if all of you are shitposters but if any of you are actually serious you should watch real adult movies and stop giving capeshit a value that doesnt have or kill yourself
capeshit is for children and edgy teens understand that
>>
>>69045613
There's more weight than that.
He spent all his life questioning his place in this world, which he initially fears will reject him. Throughout his life he has been rejected by people, but at the same time here and there he has found glimmers of hope that these people are worth it.

When he's presented with the choice of saving HIS own people or mankind, he doesn't hesitate, taking a leap of faith in them, at the expense of Krypton's future.

Forget that this is a superhero movie, what would've you done in his place?

Tell that to Zod's snapped neck.

I saw both. Both Thor and MoS share some similarities.

I think they are both decent. If the DCEU had done an MoS 2, polished up the Green Lantern movie by not rushing Parallax as a villain, and made the Ben Affleck Batman solo first, the DCEU wiuld be fine
